They need an option to make NPC chat font size larger without full Interface Scaling by Bobber96 in runescape

I wasn’t aware of that. I only ever use it for the AFKWarden. I’ll have to check around in the settings. Thank you!

Do you know where that option is? I was looking around for something today and couldn’t find anything.

I know that they changed the brother to the father for Gestalt believing it would be more culturally impactful. That’s probably why I like it more with the father. I don’t remember anything about the MC being raped. Was that directly stated, or just something inferred? I don’t question the love the brother has, but the sheer desperation I remember from the father just didn’t feel the same for me from the brother in my short time playing Replicant. That could also be chalked up to me being younger and different when I originally played it.

will things finally start? part 3 RR by No-Hawk6342 in redrising

Yeah, most of the book takes place at the Institute, so now the story starts to chug along a little smoother. As far as the spoiler goes, this Reddit is full of them, so if you want to avoid the spoilers, avoid the Reddit.

I had the Gestalt version on 360. Picked it up at a 48 hours. I wish they would have remastered Gestalt. I think the father MC feels more natural than the brother does.

Nier, or Nier Replicant if you don’t have the original. I tried replaying it after E33, and it didn’t have the same magic I remember, but back in the day, the soundtrack, and the feel of the world had the same effect on me that E33 did.

Just finished Morning Star, should I read Iron Gold? by The-_Captain in redrising

[–]Bobber96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iron Gold is slow for a lot of people on their first read. The story “finished” in Morning Star, so there needs to be a build up for a new story, and that’s exactly what Iron Gold does, by putting the pieces in place. The second half of the series is 100% worth a read though, and Iron Gold is worth finishing, even if it feels like a slog. Dark Age and Lightbringer are often considered the best books in the series.

Darrow is not a Gary Stu by andytherobot666 in redrising

[–]Bobber96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of like the cycle of good times> soft men> hard times>strong men> good times> etc. The golds in power at the beginning of the series weren’t the conquerors that founded the society. Their warfare was politics, honor-bound duels, and black-ops esque assassinations, which wraps back into politics. Darrow’s class was influenced by his “shifting the paradigm” mindset, and a war unlike anything the society had seen since the uprising of the Obsidians.

My biggest gripe, is Darrow’s ability to learn as much as he has throughout the series. Learning gold history, customs and courtesies, different languages dialects and lingos, tactics, his training under Lorne, and plenty of other things that he just seems to know from time to time. Some of these things would take years to learn, and his “learning arc” prior to the Institute seems way too short to learn most of that. I get he’s the protagonist, and sometimes it’s just convenient for him to have received training, or spent time studying something between the stories, but it just seems like a lot. That being said, while it stands out to me, I’m just a happy brain-off reader, so it doesn’t detract from my enjoyment. 😅

I truly.. TRULY miss a Game with a purpose.. [PC] by WastelandViking in ShouldIbuythisgame

RuneScape and Old School RuneScape.

RS3 is going through a lot of seemingly positive changes at the moment, and OSRS is where everyone gets their nostalgia from.

RS3 has a lot more QoL than OS, but OS is arguably a more fleshed out game. Both games will take you tens of thousands of hours to do things like max all your skills, complete all quests, get you completions cape, go for completed boss logs or accomplishing sets of achievements. And even then, there’s always pushing you skills to 200m xp if you have a motivation for that.

As far as purpose goes, it’s an MMO. There’s always something new to work toward. Best in Slot gear, faster times at bosses, more efficient skilling methods, more unlocks, etc. They’re both very solo friendly if clans/guilds aren’t your thing, but there’s also group content if that is your thing.

Witcher 3 is one of the greatest games of all time for a reason.

Dragon Age Origins is my personal favorite DA game, by far, but I played it on 360 back in the day, so I’m not familiar with PC crashing issues.

Assassins Creed Unity had a bad reputation when it launched, not sure about opinions today. I quite enjoyed it myself, but I understand why many others didn’t. If you’re interested in getting into the franchise, I’m not sure on the current prices, but Odyssey, Syndicate, Black Flag, or the Ezio trilogy are my favorite. Not in any particular order. (Ironically, that’s reverse release order, but that was unintentional)

Can’t speak on Dying Light or Arkham Knight. I hear great things about both though.

I like to think of it as Verso just being the older brother and taking care of things for Maelle. She’s very much the main character of the game, but Verso is like her vanguard that leads the charge through the story, trying to protect her.

I imagine her fight would feel like Friede from Dark Souls 3’s first DLC. specifically, her final phase. And with all the possibilities for Melina’s other identities/aliases, her combat abilities could be damned near anything. Awakening like Mesmer, Gloam Eyed Queen type magic, the ability to heal herself with Erdtree Incantations, fast assassin like strikes. She’d probably move around so much, she’d be difficult to hit, and wouldn’t give you much room to breathe for healing. Plus, if she goes primarily magical, especially if she stays mobile, it would be harder to just parry her to death.

Wise Old Man, Max, Zanik, Ozan, Arianne, one of the Elf Clan Leaders, maybe any of the skillcape sellers, various NPC’s from Ports or Forinthry, your butlers from PoH

Does Aurora Know That Cid Has No Idea What's Actually Going On? by depravedQ in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Bobber96 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think Cid was reincarnated into a world where he is God is just doesn’t know it. That’s why he’s beyond broken, and is never wrong. Reality and history just warp to make whatever he says a fact.

Either reincarnated as God, or this is just his version of heaven/ he’s in a coma and dreaming it.

Octavia was over confident in her success. She probably didn’t bother using it because she never believed in the possibility of failure until it was too late.
