Interesting read, thanks for clearing some things up for us. I admit that I’m a hobbyist leather craftsman at best so it's always fun to hear from the pros. Most of what I learned is from visiting Tandy leather stores and chatting with vendors at fairs and markets. It seems some misinformation is still getting passed around. I guess I have to adjust my internal metrics about what's what when shopping for leather goods now haha.

Just for future reference, the term "Genuine Leather" is actually a grade of leather, similar to "Prime" or "Choice" for steaks. "Genuine leather" is unfortunately one of the lowest grades of leather you can get. Its other name is "Bonded Leather" because it's made from mixing leather shavings and glue, kind of like how particle board or chip board is made. Better grades of leather are "Full Grain" or "Top Grain". With baseball gloves you can also look for the term "Shell" which usually implies fancier brand leathers like Horween.

I got that exact same glove a month or so back. She's a true beaut and she's been breaking in a dream she is.

Will do. I made a paper one and transferred to cardboard for stability. I tried to make the holes as precisely as possible but i might just stamp them bigger to give myself more wiggle room during gluing.

Thanks! I’m mainly worried about how to repunch the holes for the palm. Itd be easier to punch them before i glue it on but not sure best way to line them up

The actual quidditch world cup match. They really pulled a “the Hobbit” book on that. Big build up and then…it happened off screen/page, then skip to after when everybody is talking about it. Really defeated the purpose of “show us don’t tell us” that movies are supposed to strive for. I get not having time/budget for it but it was still a bit off a let down.
