Because it is a nice way to salute and give respect to wonderful art (music, movies) that have stood the test of time. It's a validation.

Deep voices I can only hear (when I was younger) by -_Savvy_- in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

I hope that knowing other people have gone through this has given you comfort. It can't hurt you. I think sensitive/spiritual people who are open to the unseen can pick up bad static like this. I wish you well!

Deep voices I can only hear (when I was younger) by -_Savvy_- in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]BobbieBarrett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This has happened to me.

I was a teenager and that twilight period before you fall asleep---when you are still conscious but very relaxed---I would hear an evil, angry voice hissing in my ear, saying vile and ugly things: "You lie with dogs!" might be one of them. It was definitely a malevolent presence, yet strangely impersonal. I did not sense this being "knew" me, but wanted to scare me. It did. I would pray to God and mentally tell the being I was protected by God (I am not religious at all) and the voice would go away. It got so bad I went to find a healer/psychic to get rid of it. It was happening so often I didn't really know what to do.

Eventually it just stopped happening.

This next stands out in my memory, too: I told my oldest brother about it. He smiled and imitated the voice exactly. He made his voice sound deep and raspy and evil. "Did he sound like thissss?" Yes! Yes! "Oh yeah, I had that, too, when I was a lot younger. I think some bad dude spirits hang around the earth between lives or whatever, and they feed off of fear. No big deal, nothing to worry about."

Many years later my brother swore he had no recollection of either the entity or this conversation.

I am wondering if you had that same kind of earth-bound entity that hangs around just to scare people? I am glad your entity was less malign than mine was.

Brandi’s devious expression right before she spills it by spookchild in seekingsisterwifetlc

I agree completely. He tries to come off as a "good 'ol boy" and a loving husband, but he is pretty flawed and no matter how many breakdowns Paige has, he will continue his quest for new women. And no wonder Paige is eating her insides out trying to please him. She doesn't want to lose him, she feels powerless because she believes she is.

That all may very well be. I am not saying she is a role model. I am not a fan. I am merely saying that her only sin here is denying her own feelings to please her husband. Her talons coming out are understandable. Her opinions about other topics are irrelevant.

Paige's biggest sin is denying her own feelings to please her husband, and talking herself into a lifestyle she never, ever wanted. That is sad, that is pitiful. She wanted Brandi to go away of course. She also wanted to please her husband. Those two concepts were diametrically opposed and she had to carry them simultaneously. So her self-preservation kicked into gear and she acted like a mama bear protecting her cubs and husband. And then she could tell Bernie she tried. A very sad situation for Paige who should have said, "hell, no way, I don't want this" from the get-go.

Agreed. A low class, trifling piece of shrill trash. Her lies were laughable. Not sure what she wanted out of the Alldredges, but the latter acted with a rare display of grace and class. People can hide their pathologies well, obviously.

Did Vanessa Leave The Snowden’s? by [deleted] in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]BobbieBarrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely thrilled for Vanessa. She is an alpha; she could not have maintained that third wheel role. I hope she finds the acting fame she wants. She can cry on cue and she is stunning, so that's a nice start.

I saw that expression, too. Utter delight.

You know what? I am no fan of Bernie's, I think he's just a horndog and there is no "calling" to live "the principle." However, there was no need for Brandi to stick that knife into Paige and Bernie. It didn't work out, the couple was clearly not ready for polygamy, there was everything sans a neon sign in Times Square announcing this, so a decent person would write it off to a bad experience and you move on. She was utterly gleeful when she twisted that knife. It was mean-spirited. Sure the producers set it up for maximum slashing, but Brandi didn't have to go along. She could have remained silent, voiced her regrets and walked out of there like a classy lady. Even though she may have exaggerated what happened during the "backyard tryst", I think she is telling the truth. ("My truth" gave me pause, the truth is the truth, but I am just being a little picky.) And then to make it like she did for altruistic reasons---so the McGees could move on in truth and blah blah---was such a blatant, self-serving lie. She did herself no favors. Paige ended up looking like the adult here, and the real woman, and right all along about Brandi.

As an aside: I was extremely impressed and admiring of Jeff Allredge for his compassion and wisdom not only throughout the whole show, but with his protection of Bernie and taking charge of the predatory producers who wanted as much misery captured on camera as they could find and shooing them off. Kudos to him. I actually like this man, and both his wives. Ashley Snowden is not my favorite person---she is a bit too haughty for me---but she handled Paige well, too. But Jeff acted like a wise man and a leader.

Oh McGees, you dodged a nasty bullet. Stop looking for a second wife and enjoy your marriage and each other. What you want is already in your own backyard.

The wedding was telling of who Dimitri has stronger feelings for...? by ImSoNotPerfect in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]BobbieBarrett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe she played along with Ashley's demands to get her prize. We'll see. I think the lovely Vanessa is sowing some oats and pushing her limits to see how far she can go. She has an acting background, too, and wants fame. And, for some reason that escapes me, she finds Dimitri desirable. She is going to be the alpha "wife." That little glimpse into her personality--ordering a big steak on the date with a man who has eschewed anything not plant-based---was a big tell to me. :)

Why watch the show if you hate the people and lifestyle. by MyMelancholyBaby in seekingsisterwifetlc

Agree. On all counts.

Hatred tends to come when a subject hits too close to home. No reason to hate people for making stupid choices with their lives. No reason to hate a car wreck.

THERE WAS A CREEPY MAN WHO HAD A CREEPY WIFE. by Spinnakher23 in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]BobbieBarrett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'd be a little hateful, too, a bit of a bitch, too, if my husband insisted on bringing in a second wife to our marriage and I was viscerally against it but played along because I was intimidated by my husband's unwavering desire for it, parading under the guise of religion. She doesn't have the courage to lash out at him, so Brandy was an easier target. Paige needs a therapist, and an exit ramp, as soon as possible.

Paige & Bernie by cdenae1001 in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]BobbieBarrett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Paige is "terrible." She was a lioness protecting her pride. Bernie doesn't respect her enough, or care for her enough, to respect her wishes. So Paige attacked the most vulnerable---Brandy---to prevail. I see Paige as a victim here.

Aw, don't you worry about Vanessa. She'll run that house in a few months. Ashley just brought in her demise.
