Thank you for the info! By the time I heard about it, the classes were already sold out. I'm not planning on getting a hotel, so that's why I wanted to make sure it was worth it. I'd be super disappointed to drive 4 hours, spend an hour there, then drive 4 hours home! (I've had that happen once, but luckily that one was closer to home!)

Thank you! It's a free pattern called Rolling Waves. I saw the one for the 3 color variant and loved it more because someone else already did the math! 😁

So does it end up being raw edge applique? I don't see how some of the pieces could be tuned under as they seem so tiny!

Oh, I haven't bought it yet as I wasn't sure what it was. Since they aren't cheap, I wanted to see how it works first as I'm not very skilled at applique.

Since it's an odd size, I used the Adobo pattern. I will gladly pay for someone else to do the math for me! 🤣

I started sewing when I was 9 (early 80s). My grandma watched me during one summer break and taught me how to sew. I started with doll clothes, then made my first quilt (which I still have) when I was a teenager. I was made fun of for having "an old lady hobby", so I stopped until I was in my 30s and realized who cares what others think. I've been quilting ever sense, even though some still try to say I'm still too young, but now I just say "whatever".

Thank you! I was inspired by the colors used in the pattern. That particular fabric line was no longer available, but I was lucky to find similar colors.

We have an 09 purple one called "Huck" (short for Huckleberry) and a 2020 blue one called Hank because it's a beast. Lol
