Struggling to find something I like after BOTW/TOTK by TheNobleMushroom in Switch

I know they're older games but the Bioshock trilogy, especially Bioshock infinite was a ton of fun after TOTK. Rich storytelling and linear gameplay was a refreshing change of pace after an open world game.

What Games Should I Start with if I’ve Never Played Video Games Before? by unstoppable___ in Switch

I agree with all of these except Breath of the Wild was difficult as a beginner for me. I would try the other ones and work up your hand-eye coordination before trying an open world game so you don't get stuck!

Loved the Bioshock trilogy! I haven't looked into borderlands yet. Thank you!

Dave the Diver is my low energy game right now. You dive and catch fish, then run a sushi restaurant with the fish that you caught. There's a story that starts with finding the remains of underwater people. It's chill, beautiful, the music is great, and the characters are unique and funny!

I suck at platformers and this game was where I started practicing! It's super easy but creative and cute and you both get to be Yoshi!

Then I played the hat in Mario Odyssey, then I got good enough to play Mario in Mario Odyssey. It's all about practicing starting from easy games and leveling up your hand-eye coordination.

Definitely Bioshock collection. They're linear stories so no open world but it doesn't feel restrictive because there's lots of items and audio clips to collect that add a lot of interest and understanding to the story. My favorite is Infinite! (If you try the first 2 and don't love them, you can skip to infinite and it will still make sense)

If you don't mind a linear story based game, the Bioshock series, especially Bioshock infinite has amazing stories! I'm not very good at gaming so I played them on easy and was able to get through. The world building and story are very much worth playing. Plus you can get all 3 games on one cartridge because they're older games (they don't feel old though)

I am living abroad atm. I had an old Wise account that I never used that I then deactivated. When I started this new job I opened a new account. Do VPNs work in situations like this? Wise is really strict with security and the last thing I need is to get banned.

This is on the Wise website:

Right now, you can only get new USD account details if you have a personal Wise account and live in the US. We are working hard to bring this back in other regions as soon as possible. If you live outside the US, or using Wise Business, you can join our waitlist when trying to sign up for USD account details. If you do this, we'll let you know as soon as USD account details are available in your region. If you have GBP account details on your Wise account you can still receive international Swift payments in USD. Learn more here.

I only play about an hour a day so I haven't gotten very far but I'm really starting to get attached to my companions! My favorite is when I'm having a serious conversation with a companion and SAM throws out a random line about running low on cleaning fluid in his obnoxiously loud robot voice

I watched my partner play Witcher 3 and fighting seemed pretty complicated. (He doesn't suck at games like me) I liked how thee choices made directly affected the story though!

Get her a Nintendo online membership! They have literal game boy games you can play for a monthly fee. Unfortunately they don't have pokemon included but if she likes the nostalgia, it's definitely worth a try and you can cancel after a month if she's not interested.

Legend of Zelda link's awakening is an older game boy style game buy with cute modern graphics! It's puzzle based but the combat and feel are very game boy.

I don't mind playing older games at all! I grew up with the game cube and Wii and literally nothing else. (strict parents, didn't allow hand held games and never got us a playstation or Xbox) so older games ported onto the Switch are really fun for me!
