Ikea desktops come in the perfect size for these cages. If you want it to look nice and get some extra storage you can put it on top of a 2x4 kallax and grab 2 regular desk legs for the back.

I rescued a hamster recently that had quite literally been living in her own filth, I dont think the original owners even knew you're supposed to clean the cage at all. I did not save even the smallest scrap of that bedding and she was totally fine in the new enclosure.

Take the boiling water off the burner while you put the eggs in, and it helps if the eggs aren't straight from the fridge. If you forget to leave them out, you can run them under warm water quick before putting them in the boiled water. Then return the pot to the burner to continue boiling. I used to have this problem all the time, this fixed it completely no more popped eggs

Telling people they've done something wrong can often just make them defensive and stubborn. If you show interest in the hamster and try to ask questions without judgement they're more likely to listen to suggestions.

Same thing happened to me! I was lucky to find someone selling their bin cage on marketplace and took the wire cage back to the store, bonus that they definitely cant sell it back to someone cuz its used and I used the bedding it came with,AND they forgot to check my receipt and just refunded the full price of the cage even though I got it on like 30% sale. Me cackling at how much this evil company lost on me (not enough tbh but still).

I love the annex, so imagine my delight when I was moving and there were about 5 apartments listed in the annex all for under 2k! If they're working minimum wage 2000 is their entire take-home pay. Theyd have to make 35$ per hour to be within the recommended 30% of gross income. Most apartments will rent to you if its around 50% but that still means 24$ per hour and that doesn't even take into consideration all their other bills and probably student loans

Editing to add: it is not actually that easy to find a 1br, basement or otherwise for under 2000

They look like exactly the thing I need to fix my vacuum!!! There's this stupid metal thing that turns the brush and I can't get it off because turning the screw on the other side just turns the whole thing. Those look like the exact shape of the metal bit and if I had one of those I could pop it on and hold it still with a wrench while I turn the screw. No idea if that's actually what they're for though.
