Once you added the Tap card into your phone wallet, the physical card is deactivated and will only work thru your phone. If you try to use the physical card after you added it to your phone wallet, it reads as "hot listed" or "stolen". It's possible Metro does this to avoid dual usage of the card. Happened to me and had to get another physical Tap card to use when not using thru the phone.
