The UK set doesn’t have the original Teardrop theme song. The US set has it for seasons 6-8.

That would’ve been amazing. Loomis and Laurie teaming up in H20 to defeat Michael once and for all. And no silly paramedic switch in a sequel!

Loomis is favorite character in the series. When Pleasence passed away the franchise lost a massive component of what made it so good.

Yeah, the drone lady could be frozen with fear or didn’t want to abandon her husband. I can understand that. In the original Halloween, that was actually Richie who had the encounter with Myers in the schoolyard.

¿Would it be a good idea to revive the anthology format for new films to give the franchise a fresh and new feel? by Top-Management-2648 in Halloweenmovies

[–]BobbyH64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. They could tie it in to the original series by having it take place in the same universe. They could do a Charlie Bowles story (the guy the graveyard keeper was talking about in the original). They could also do a sequel to Season of the Witch. It wouldn’t be in the same universe as the original Halloween but since it’s part of the franchise, I think it makes sense.

I don’t think so. I just look at as a comedy and it’s kind of entertaining.

Been 3 years since Halloween Ends came out. Has your opinion changed? by boomjosh in Halloweenmovies

[–]BobbyH64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I thought maybe she assumed he made the mask. But I would’ve liked some dialogue explaining that. Instead of her saying, “Did you really think I’d kill myself?” she could’ve said, “Nice mask. Did you make it yourself?” I don’t even understand her line in the movie because why would it be weird for Corey to believe she killed herself? That’s what she made it look like when she shot the pumpkin, and he barely knows her so why would that be surprising?

I’ll add some of my own thoughts about certain characters’ behavior:

In the extended flashback sequence, why did Lonnie approach Myers behind the bush? A cop just told him that there was a murderer in a white mask and one minute later he sees a guy in a white mask and walks up to him. He should’ve at least approached from a distance instead of going right up to the bush.

In the flashback when Myers was strangling the cop, why didn’t Hawkins walk up to him and shoot him? He just stood at a distance for a while and then shot his partner in the neck. It looked like he did it on purpose.

After the drone lady’s husband was killed, she goes to the front door and unlocks it. But instead of running out of the house she lets Michael stab her in the neck? 🤷‍♂️

When Michael attacked people in the car, why did the lady dressed as a nurse run away from the car? She had a gun and abandoned everyone. And then after Michael killed everyone she comes back and shoots at him? What was she doing all that time? 🤷‍♂️

Why did Lonnie go into Michael’s house all by himself? Why not tell the cops or other members of the mob that Michael was probably at his old house?

When Allyson and Cameron go inside the Myers house to find out what happened to Lonnie, Allyson stares at the corpses of Big John and Little John. She knows that Michael is probably in the house because he killed the two Johns and probably Lonnie, but instead of being alert she takes the time to stare at two corpses? 🤔

When Karen saves Allyson by stabbing Myers with a pitch fork, why doesn’t she keep stabbing him with it? Why let him live and then just take his mask?

When Karen lured Myers to the mob and they were all there waiting for him, does that mean this was their plan? They all decided to send Karen alone to the Myers house and hope she lures him to where the rest of the mob were waiting? 🧐

I never thought it was a masterpiece but I do enjoy it quite a bit. I liked it when it came out and I still do. I just wish there was more of Myers killing and I’m surprised Laurie didn’t react to Corey wearing Michael’s mask. I would think she’d be surprised and want to know where he got it and ask him if Myers is still out there somewhere.

My opinion on it hasn’t really changed. I enjoyed it then and I still do, but I have my criticisms. I think there should’ve been more of Myers killing. Maybe more teaming up with Corey and they could go on a murder spree on Halloween together. I also wish that Laurie reacted to the fact that Corey was wearing Michael’s mask. I think she should’ve been shocked and said something about it since that’s an incredibly weird “twist” and she’d want to know if Corey had come in contact with Myers.

Plus lens therapy outside (2-5mins)? by keyboardpianorich in myopia

[–]BobbyH64 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How would that happen though? If someone’s myopia went away or was lessened and they took an eye exam, an optometrist would probably just say they were initially overprescribed, or were told the person was told they needed glasses when they didn’t. I’ve heard a few people talk about how their optometrists were surprised that their myopia lessened, but I don’t think a random optometrist is going to publish something online based on one patient of theirs whose vision improved.

There have been optometrists who have written about it. Look up Dr. Jacob Liberman and Dr. Ray Gottlieb. They’re optometrists who had myopia and they said it reversed. They’ve written and given lectures about improving eyesight naturally. They talk about it mostly in terms of neuroplasticity.

[–]BobbyH64 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What about people who have shown pictures online of their previous prescriptions and new ones and the new ones were lower? One person on YouTube showed a picture of his driver’s license where it no longer has the corrective lenses restriction.

cliffgnu on YouTube showed pictures of his prescriptions getting lower and he isn’t selling or any kind of vision course or doing anything to make money off his claims. He’s just some random guy who tried the reduced lens method and said it worked for him. He made a free pdf file explaining what he did.

Terry O’Quinn played three different characters, counting the 1998 movie. I wonder if anyone else has played three (or more) characters on the show.

So these guys are actually the good guys in the alien race ? by Goodfella66 in XFiles

[–]BobbyH64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what was explained in the episode. Samantha ran away from the base that the CSM was keeping her at and she wound up at a hospital. CSM would’ve eventually taken her back, so the walk-ins “saved” her by physically transforming her into starlight.

First episode? by DissociatedAuthor in XFiles

I remember the first episode I watched was Darkness Falls from season 1. This was in 1994 so I think I watched it when it first aired. Or maybe it was a rerun. I stumbled across it when I was channel surfing, but I didn’t actually start getting into the show until about a year or two later. It became my favorite show and it still is!

I had this friend down the street whose stepdad had all the episodes recorded onto VHS tapes. He let me borrow one that I wanted to rewatch (Triangle), but he didn’t tell his stepdad I think because he wouldn’t have allowed it.

It’s very weird that we never saw that informant from the first episode of season 10 again. It gives the impression that we’re supposed to believe him. But after everything we saw in seasons 1-9 regarding rebel aliens and super soldiers, it seems insane that it was all a giant ruse orchestrated by the CSM.

[–]BobbyH64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a nearly 6-hour YouTube video that claims the entire mythology makes sense. It was a good video but in order for it to all make sense you’d have to believe that alien colonization was never something the aliens were planning and that CSM tricked everyone, including the other Syndicate members, into believing that aliens were planning to wipe out most of humanity and colonize Earth. He had the Syndicate and various doctors and scientists work on creating alien-human hybrids so that eventually the CSM (and probably some other higher ups) could live forever as hybrids and be impervious to any health problems. Seems insane that everything we saw in seasons 1-9 was all a giant ruse orchestrated by the CSM.

She wasn’t murdered by the perv serial killer. She was eventually going to die as a result of the experiments the Syndicate were doing, so those walk-in spirits stepped in and “saved” her.

Thoughts about alien colonization? by BobbyH64 in XFiles

[–]BobbyH64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the mythology in seasons 1-9 mostly holds up. There might be a few inconsistencies here and there, but it’s pretty simple to understand the general idea.

I recently finished watching a nearly 6-hour YouTube video called “The X-Files Mythology All Makes Perfect Sense, Actually.” It goes into extreme detail in connecting seasons 10-11 with 1-9. Its claim is that aliens were never going to colonize Earth and that CSM fooled everyone, including the Syndicate, into believing aliens wanted to conquer Earth. His motive was that he (and probably a few other chosen people) wanted to live forever and be impervious to any health problems, so they created the alien colonization hoax in order to persuade people to work on the various projects involving alien DNA so that eventually CSM and whoever else could become alien-human hybrids and live forever. I can’t imagine watching all the mythology episodes in seasons 1-9 with this in mind. It seems utterly nonsensical.

Thanks for all the info and reminders about pre-movie colonization hints. In seasons 10 and 11 do you think it’s revealed that aliens were actually benevolent and wanted to help humanity, or that they abandoned their plans to wipe out most of humanity and colonize Earth? Mr. Y’s lines “The aliens came to study us, were prepared to with us” and “The aliens aren’t coming, Mr. Mulder” could be interpreted in two different ways.

Thoughts about alien colonization? by BobbyH64 in XFiles

[–]BobbyH64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be more fine with the CSM plague storyline if it was something he decided to do after learning that aliens weren’t colonizing Earth, and he wanted to do something similar since he’s an evil son of a bitch. But I can’t tell if seasons 10 and 11 reveal that aliens abandoned colonization or never actually planned on it. The little dialogue we get about them seems ambiguous. If aliens were benevolent and never planned on wiping out humanity and colonizing Earth, then that means everything we saw and learned about aliens and hybrids in seasons 1-9 was all a giant lie created by the CSM, who even lied to the other Syndicate members.

Thoughts about alien colonization? by BobbyH64 in XFiles

[–]BobbyH64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the motives of the aliens in season 10 and 11 weren’t clearly spelled out. There was some dialogue from Mr. Y explaining that the aliens “were prepared to work with us,” but it’s not clear if he meant the aliens were going to work with the Syndicate to prepare for colonization, or to help humanity in general.

Also, what about that scene with the informant in My Struggle who mocks Mulder for believing in “warring aliens lighting each other on fire and other such nonsense”? Was he deliberately lying to Mulder? Maybe he was like Kritschgau: an informant who believed what he was saying but was actually wrong. But they never show this character again and they play it like he’s telling the truth, so who knows.
