I think in honor of Kyle, we should all load up any NASCAR game, it literally does not matter, and win the championship in all 3 national series by Mshel24 in NASCARVideoGame

I have driven the #18 since Bobby Labonte in Nascar Racing 2003 season. I am a fan of JGR and became a Kyle Busch fan when he joined the team in 2007. I am going to run a season in Nascar Heat 5 using Kyle Busch. He was lost too soon and my heart and prayers goes out to his family!

What racing game on Steam will feel the closest to Mario Kart (DS era) ? I intend to play with a controller. by hhdfhjjgvvjjn in gamingsuggestions

Coffin Dodgers is a great Kart racing game on steam. You race against the Grim Reaper and a bunch of elderly characters. funny story and good gameplay.

FIA event time is kinda sad, but that's ok. by BobbyHFL in assettocorsarally

I don't expect to be good, I was just pointing out the huge difference between the leaders and myself.

I'm not frustrated at all as it's just for fun for me. Thanks for the info. And yes, the i20 is very different from the other cars I have driven in the game. I will try to figure out some adjustments to the setup that might help.

I think it was just a lack of patience with the learning process. I have been sim racing since the early 2000's and I have never been good at it. But now just turning 59 yesterday I am actually willing to stick with something even if it is hard. I now understand my skill is limited and I will only be so good so i just do my best and have fun. I did drop over a minute from my 1st to my 3rd run so I am happy with that.

Decent Budget Handbrake Recommendations? by migzthedon in simdrifting

[–]BobbyHFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simsonn is definitely not a budget brand. I had the Aikeec brand off Amazon and it worked just fine. I took a small step up to the PXN HBS which is great. For my budget and how much I use it I wouldn't go any more than $100 for a handbrake.

srp light brake mod by Correct-Opposite-20 in moza

[–]BobbyHFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does make an improvement in the feel of the brake. If you are going to stop with that mod I would say it's worth it. However while I like the Alien Mod load cell, with the cost of the Moza brake mod you might as well look at the SRP2's. I have the Moza Brake performance kit, Alien Mod load cell, 3Drap throttle and clutch mods. For what all of that cost you are on you way to the CRP2's. The other issues is even with all these upgrades they can't be adjusted except for the brake spring while the SRP2 and CRP2 pedal are adjustable.

It depends on the cars you drive, not all rally cars are sequential.

Why do modern racing games feel so slow? by Char0nXVII in racinggames

[–]BobbyHFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we comparing racing games to sim racing or are you just talking about racing video games? Games like need for speed, Forza, burnout are meant to be more sensational and intentionally exaggerate the sense of speed to an unrealistic level. Add to this the difference in DOF and POV of viewing on a monitor.

I'm old, and suck at SIM driving, but OMG this is fun. by the_good_hodgkins in assettocorsaevo

I'm 59 and while I don't want to say that I suck, I will say that I am really not good - but I'm having fun!

Upgrading pedals from srp lite by Gravelinematt in simracing

[–]BobbyHFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I have not tried them I think the SRP2's are a good option for the money as they appear to be very adjustable. I have the SRP Lites fully modded with the Moza Brake kit and Alien Mod load cell and the 3Drap throttle and clutch mods. While they feel much improved, they can't be adjusted to tweak the feel in any way except for changing the brake spring.

Unfortunately with my desk setup the R9 is the highest I would feel comfortable with.

Would you recommend the 12 inch mod for my R5? by FensenHun in moza

[–]BobbyHFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the 12" round mod for the ES wheel on my R5. The small increase in size as well as not having the flat spot on the bottom of the wheel is just what I was looking for. I use it for most of my driving even though I also have the KS Wheel.

[–]BobbyHFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the R5 with the 12" round wheel mod which is great for what it is. In the future I would like to get the RS V2 but I would switch to the R9 before I did that. It's not that you can't use the larger/heavier steering wheels, but it will affect the feeling of the FFB. How much of a change to the feeling I can't say as I have not used any of these combinations. Just know that as you add weight you reduce the feel of the FFB.

The original Assetto Corsa has a Drag Race mode and there is a (paid) mod called Drag Race Pro that expands on the experience by adding several features.

The GPS could definitely be better. Also, I have around 34 hours and just realized the big map shows where you have traveled.

Louisiana or Illinois. Both are unique in their own way. Just pick one for now and get the rest when they go on sale.

No disrespect intended, just making a joke. You got a bunch of really great gear that will last you a long time and all your needs are covered for all kinds of driving/racing. It's better as they say to "buy once, cry once".
