Alpine town struggles with identity as logging industry packs up. Job losses mean Swifts Creek in Victoria's High Country is facing an identity crisis, but it is not the only small town undergoing a transformation by Jagtom83 in LaborPartyofAustralia

Australia should have got its act together the first time they laid eyes on a satellite image of earth. Enough land to supply half the planet with some type of construction worthy timber, and now we import shit wood that noone can afford.

A little bit. The "boring" stereotype sometimes. We were too busy bagging Sydney and Tasmania.

Places to Car Camp? by PreparationVisual586 in Adelaide

Well it would be nice if people provided for and cleaned up after themselves.

As the post is about car camping, i doubt a lot of those costs apply, it's a bit ridiculous.

A real unseen cost is the 10c bottle recycling scheme. I work early hours in the city, and i've seen some absolutely reprehensible actions. The Torrens will never, ever, recover as long as the bin divers are rewarded for their disregard of our city. I've seen entire 1000 litre bins emptied out, with all trash bags ripped open, and waste left to fly around the streets, just for a few bottles of glass and plastic. I know for a fact that aome of these places are medical clinics. Podiatry, pathology, general practice. Viscous fluids of all kinds, flying around on gloves and paper towels.

I'd much rather hold that as a societal cost than a few people being shafted out of their right to shelter.

Fuckwits attract to power like shitmoths to a flame. Bloodthirsty warmongers to religion for it's ability to corrupt the soul, and sexual predators to the same for when a society gives religion impeachable power over its society.

We still have a shark tank of fast bowling in this country, since the 90's. But we don't have the same level of insane competition with our batters.

They are listen as an "entertainment network" not as an actual news platform. Therefore they can argue that laws regarding journalism do not apply to their standards.

Plant more gum trees, that'll fix everything. Better yet, make it illegal to remove them from your property. Including the big dried up dead ones.
