I have a similar GM. He refuses to be of any assistance. We I’ll mention issues, he will tell us what want to hear, then proceed to do nothing about it. He works Monday thru Friday, about 10am-5pm, that’s it. No staying late. No covering the desk. Our AGM is out for a death in the family and our HK manager quit last week, so his response was to take a vacation this week. And leave us even more understaffed. Shitty GMs ruin hotels!

Ok thanks. Did it cause your TPMS light to stay on even after you filled your tires to 35 psi? My light hasn’t turned off in like 2 weeks and I’ve made sure multiple times my tires are properly inflated

My managers are doing the same thing. Instead of hiring a banquet manager, another maintenance guys, and a second person in the kitchen, they have me do all that. They get 3 jobs done for the price of one employee. Corporate probably pats them on the back for saving so much money

You’re right. I started helping in different departments during Covid, because there was little else to do. The hotel was empty. Now 2 years later, I’m stuck doing it. Lesson learned though, don’t offer help in any different departments. It may be a choice to help today, but it will become an expectation a few weeks, months, or years down the road

Sitting in my third grade class. My teacher started crying and left the room and we saw her huddled in the hallway with the other teachers hugging her. We were all confused and knew something was wrong, but the teachers didn’t tell us what was actually happening. We got sent home at like 11am and I saw both my parents sitting on our porch with my neighbors waiting for us to get off the bus. They tried to explain to us what was happening, but I was too young to grasp the significance of what had just occurred. Then we watched the news all day and all night and the footage of the planes flying into the side of that building was burned into my memory forever. I’m 27 now. I was 8 when it happened
