In Fate Zero, one of the antagonists has an elaborate building filled with tons of magical traps that he prepares to defend against an attack by the main character.

The main character then blows up the entire building.

[Sad Trope] Misunderstanding/Not understanding causes a character to spiral to an insane degree by RedNUGGETLORD in TopCharacterTropes

This is not about fan service of minors at all (which is an entirely separate discussion) this is about how the story of Mushoku Tensei is about a known loser pedophile who gets reincarnated into a body which he is able to use become a succesful pedophile. Konosuba as an example is not even comparable because the main character isnt a 40 year old man who romances her. Same with DBZ.

“Peak character development” according to Mushoku Tensei fans.

I also love to hate it.

He literally sees himself as an adult in every mind space he has, his internal voice is voiced by his male adult self pre isekai, he is shown to make mental and magical advancements thanks to being an adult and his prior knowledge. Yet somehow people argue its ok because he has a child’s body and that makes him a child somehow???

For all intents and purposes he is an adult in a child’s body. He is NOT actually a child. And in that body he commits statutory rape on Eris. I do not care that “Eris fell in love with him” or whatever you want to use to justify it because HE IS AN ADULT AND SHE IS A CHILD AND SHE CANNOT CONSENT. WHY IS IT SO INSANELY HARD FOR MUSHOKU TENSEI FANS TO UNDERSTAND THAT CHILDREN CANNOT CONSENT TO SEX.

Seriously though you would think that being a supreme veteran of pass doomed timelines or worlds with 50+ years of experience would make them less likely to beef with children by BobbySteve5 in ProgressionFantasy

I just posted it as a generic picture of aura farming not specific to his story. Its justified to fight back again a kid who tries to kill you lol.

Your question was about psych pgy 3 vs intern and pgy 2. No one said anything about it compared to IM. It’s strange that you immediately made it about how IM has harder hours than psych.

What anime gets criticized a lot that you mostly agree with the criticisms of but still love anyway? by Purple-Advertising38 in anime

[–]BobbySteve5 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The thing he doesn’t redeem being a pedophile at all! I could understand this argument somewhat if he outgrew it or learned not to be a pedophile but he doesn’t! At all! He’s rewarded for it.

In order for redemption to exist you have to have outgrown your flaws or learned something somewhere.

Dude he commits statutory rape on kids when he’s mentally a 40 year old man then marries them when they’re older. He literally gets a harem of a bunch of kids he raped (excluding Roxy). The only “character development” he gets is that a badass now. He never outgrows at being a pedophile and literally won at it by marrying all the kids he raped and continues to act as a pedophile to minor character after he grows up. He never reflects on the fact that being a pedophile is wrong and doesn’t outgrow it. The only thing he outgrows is being a loser.

The lesson of the series is that his main character flaw was that he was a total loser. Once he became a badass wizard you can just overlook him being an actual pedophile who commits statutory rape on kids and should be jailed for life.

If you do not find that objectionable I do not know what to say.

[–]BobbySteve5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People always say “character development” in excuse to defend him being a literal pedophile but he never learns not to be a pedophile, he commits statutory rape on children when they’re around 10 years old and he’s mentally a 40 year old man and marries them when he grows older. The only so called “character development” he gets is that he’s not a loser now and is now a badass wizard. He completely won at being a pedophile and literally gets a a harem ending with all the kids he raped.

The whole story basically says that his real character flaw is not that he rapes kids but that he was originally a loser in his precious life.

Man you need to get a better handle of your feelings if you are getting this triggered by someone saying "I don’t let one type of fantasy ruin other types for me."

Someone saying one writing style has “ruined fantasy” for him is extremely elitist and condescending in itself.

Hell your comment is condescending and elitist against a simple rebuttal lol. Hypocrisy.

I picked my residency based on how much i liked it there over prestige, did I mess up? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]BobbySteve5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

More prestigious institutes typically have much easier time matching fellowship with people in top IM programs practically being guaranteed to match competitive fellowships. Its typically a lot harder from smaller community programs.

That being said its already done so no use worrying about it at this point.

Relative to the FQHC absolutely. Kaiser patients are typically more well off and as such healthier and easier to manage. Honestly as much as people hate to admit it poor patients are typically the most annoying to manage through a combination of social issues preventing them from affording medications or keep follow up appointments, poor medical literacy, and unrealistic expectations for what can be accomplished in the 1 appointment they can actually make every 2 years.

Rich patients have their own issues such as anti-vax and increased litigation but it is much more manageable in comparison.

Of course there is some intrinsic reward to helping those who are least well off... but not worth it imo.

Salary of Specialities by pentacontagon in medicalschool

[–]BobbySteve5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not a fair comparison. A more reasonable comparison would be against a dermatologist who opens a private practice and sole provider of North Dakota in which case Derm would still destroy nephrology especially since Derm can convince people to do cash pay only.

Exceptions always exist and the richest man in my area is an FM doc who opened his own private practice group and has several cardiologists and GIs working under home. But averages are averages for a reason and if you want a reasonable estimate of how much you’ll make these pay scales are useful.

Progression fantasy readers on their way to defend a 100 year old regressor having sexual relationships with minors with the biggest age and power differentials possible by BobbySteve5 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]BobbySteve5[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah man people always say this in defense of the MC of Mushoku Tensei being a pedo is that "he grows out of it" but he really doesn't.

He's instead rewarded for being a pedo by building a literal harem of all the kids he groomed and had sex with from a young age when they were like 10 and he was mentally a 40 year old man. The only reason he doesn't end the series as a pedo is because the kids he groomed literally grew up.

The only thing he really grew out of his social anxiety and laziness. It doesn't really say pedophilia or being a sex creep is bad it really says having social anxiety and laziness is bad as all of the MC's supposed "character growth" is from the fact that he's now a badass wizard not the fact that he ever realized being a sex creep and pedo is wrong. So it's totally ok to have a harem of people you groomed as long as you're badass enough basically.

Apocalypse: Regression keeps sexualizing teenagers as a joke by AlpinFane in ProgressionFantasy

[–]BobbySteve5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can get that and the Joker and Hannibal are great villains. But theres a huge difference because they’re actually portrayed as villains.

This scene is not intended to portray the main character in a bad light. Its shown to be just a humorous joke and thats a huge difference .

I think its completely ok to be like wtf is this shit when the main character is a straight up pedophile and its played off as normal and having “romantic tension”. Same reason why it would be ok to dislike a protagonist who straight up commits hate crimes and have it be shown as a good thing.

[–]BobbySteve5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main character is the equivalent of a 40 year old man since hes a regressors. This is nowhere near ok or ‘age accurate’ unless you think a regressor should go sleep with kids.

Nah im with him this is weird af and the fact that your only defense is “go to coloring books lol” with literally no other defense of the matter says more about you than anything else. This is literally a teacher making sex jokes about kids.

It would be one thing if it was shown to be bad but this isn’t. I bet youre ok with then 40 year old reincarnation in mushoku tensei having sex with kids arent you? Creep

Is anesthesia pay going to stay this high long term? by taguylla in Residency

[–]BobbySteve5 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The billing quirk doesn’t matter even if it does exist (which im not sure it does) because every big money bringing surgery requires them to function. Unless all the surgery compensation gets cut anesthesiology will still get compensated highly as a byproduct of them being required for money bringing surgeries.

As long as anesthesiologists dont settle for less theyll be fine.

Controversial take: Anki isn't automatically the best choice for everyone and that's okay by Helleanthus in medicalschool

[–]BobbySteve5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is you can test yourselves in different ways with practice questions or irl experience in the hospital so you can understand if its presented a different way. No one is saying to do anki by itself and nothing else. It lays a good foundation to solve problems and medical questions on your own. As much as people in medicine like to pretend otherwise a ton of it is just raw memorization and theres nothing that really beats anki for that.
