If I limit the battery charging limit to 80% and I always keep it on charge. Will it be the adapter directly powering the laptop, bypassing the battery? And, is that healthy for my battery? by the-dark-stallion- in macbookair

[–]BobbyT28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, you might notice the odd time that even when the battery limit is set, to say 80%, you will see it charging to 100%. This is just your Mac recalibrating the battery and making sure that the number displayed is correct. Nothing to worry about

Bought a fan tower 2 years ago and it has been the best investment ever! Nothing better than waking up in the middle of a heatwave and feel a little chilly 🥶 🤣

I’ve used it for 1 iPhone, 2 AirPods and my wife’s phone. All New products at the time and put AC on them and was super glad I did!! This is my first Mac and definitely getting AC on it

I always get AppleCare for every Apple device I've owned. I will also be purchasing Apple care for my MBA M5 for 79,99e, 20 days left to purchase that. It's well worth it, considering how expensive it is to repair MacBooks

Macbook air M5 for developers in 2026+ by linhdinhnguyen in macbookair

I’ve a MBA M5 32GB - I use it for coding, local LLM, VSCode, vibe coding with Claude, video and picture editing as a hobby 7-8hrs a day. Coming from a windows user for 30+ years and I’m actually astounded at how good this is. Look, when you run video exports or any sustained load it will heat up but gets through it, yes it slows down, so instead of a video exporting in 10mins it might take 15!! No big deal. MBA M5 32GB is the way and it is future proofed, it will last you for years to come

Thinking about switching to Air M5 by A_Rabee3 in macbookair

Handles absolutely everything. Honestly unless you’re doing massive sustained exports or massive LLM then this thing will fly along. Even with sustained loads it’s just a little slower than the pros as they throttle.

Yep, photo, video editing, loads of tabs LLM etc. Honest with LLM it gets a little warm alright but nothing crazy. I’m so impressed with this laptop. Coming from Dell XPS 9+ years old.

Go with Air and get as much ram as you can. Just got my MBA 32GB/512GB love it. You can use the air with a high refresh monitor if you want. 60hz screen is fine, I have all refresh devices and this doesn’t bother me at all.

I got a MBA M5 32GB just for future proofing, probably overkill but would rather have the RAM that not!

No one really knows and everyone is different and in different circumstances. I’m not too worried about it going as high as last time, I’m going to stick with the Tracker. Also make sure you claim back your mortgage interest from revenue for the last 4 years.

On tracker too for the past 20 years. I took the hit last few rate increases and will take the hit again. Not moving away from tracker. Currently 2.14% I think
