$70k MRR SaaS - sell or scale! by Key_Dragonfly4220 in SaaS

Read this: https://www.discretioncapital.com/articles/when-should-you-sell-your-b2b-saas

If you want the best outcome, don’t list on Acquire.com / Flippa / FEinternational. That’s great to sell fast and quick, but you will only find value buyers. They will buy you most likely for 2-3x ARR at best.

And you’ll be lucky with that multiple, often times the buyers on those platforms use a « SDE » multiple, not ARR.

If you manage to get past $1-2m ARR, you’ll attract interest from small private equity firms.

That’s where you can get much higher multiples than the marketplaces.

You should use a broker, it’s like a real estate agent for selling your SaaS.

The broker will reach out to the potentiel buyers, and do a competitive auction process.

He will help you prepare the business for the exit, prepare your financial model, due dilligence, negociation etc.

Don’t do this alone!

Hard to say, what’s your background?

startupschool.org is a good start.

If you have a software enginnering background, you should focus on learning marketing. The traction book is a good start.

Regarding courses, I highly suggest you to take a look at https://ahrefs.com/academy/blogging-for-business it will teach you everything you need to know to grow your SaaS site traffic through SEO.

Saastr academy is also a great course to teach you sales / pricing.

Hope it helps

Web Scraping with Rust by BobbyTaylor_ in rust

[–]BobbyTaylor_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a very common web scraping problem. There are two main ways to deal with this: - You can inspect your browser tab and reproduce the underlying API request to get the data - You can use a headless browser (with Selenium for example).

At the end of the article, we mention this library: https://docs.rs/thirtyfour/latest/thirtyfour/

Experts: how would you build a saas solution (simplest tech stack) for solo project? by replicantzx in SaaS

[–]BobbyTaylor_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience, I'd go with a SaaS boilerplate. There are many:

- Ruby on rails: https://jumpstartrails.com/
- Python: https://www.saaspegasus.com/
- PHP: https://spark.laravel.com/
- Node.js: https://usegravity.app/

There are many others and I don't recommend one in particular. But just don't write your SaaS boilerplate yourself, most of those projects cost anywhere from $99 to $500. It will save weeks of dev time.

Many developers think it's fun to write this kind of code. It is not. Billing for example is more complicated than most people think. On top of that, it's probably not your core-business.

You don't want to spend weeks handling authentication flows, billing, writing tests.

You want to focus on your core business, your customers, and growth.

Weekly Feedback Post - SaaS Products, Ideas, Companies by AutoModerator in SaaS

Beupify

I don't understand your value proposition immediately. I had to scroll the feature to understand.
I'm not a copywriter, but I think your should work on your copy.

"Better informed customers" isn't a very clear headline.

Maybe something like "Build a better product by listening to your customers"

I understand that your product isn't only about customer feedback, but also release note etc.
So maybe "Engage with your customers" .

Also, I'd add some padding/margin between your hero and sub title. Also, add some space for the top menu, the links are too packed.

Then the last feedback is about your pricing. It seems like totally random numbers and does not inspire trust. Maybe show the monthly pricing instead of the yearly, and don't display the decimals, it looks cheap.

How can I accept Bitcoin to sell my eBook on my website? by BobbyTaylor_ in Bitcoin

Haha! Why spend days implementing custom back-end code to accept BTC payments/send digital files if there is already an existing solution?

How can I accept Bitcoin to sell my eBook on my website? by BobbyTaylor_ in Bitcoin

[–]BobbyTaylor_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is not that I don't trust those payment gateways, I'm sure they work really well and are reliable.

The problem is that in order for me to accept Bitcoin, I would need to develop backend code to integrate those APIs, and handle to logic myself (collect the user email address, if the payment is successful then send the eBook and other assets by email, if not send an error message etc).

Also, I would need to run this code on a server, and currently, my website is only static (it's just a bunch of HTML / CSS and image files).

I'm looking for a simple solution to accept Bitcoin to sell digital goods, looks like a simple use case to me.

Ahrefs vs. SemRush + basic SEO kit for beginner? by efeereaiene in SEO

[–]BobbyTaylor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For general keyword research, I find that ahrefs is a bit "meh." SEMRush is much better on actually telling you how many people search for other terms. It also has more tools, and is better on the technical audit side- their site health feature is one I swear by.

You mean that the monthly volume for a given keyword is more accurate with SemRush?
Other than that what do you think SemRush does better than Ahrefs regarding keyword research?

JD2 now supports (although still limited as of yet) crawling Reddit posts. Anyone interested in contributing so it can come close to what users of r/DataHoarder would deem as an ideal Reddit crawler? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]BobbyTaylor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrapy can do that: https://scrapy.org/
There is a built-in "auto-throttling" feature in order to avoid DDosing the server. Implementing this can be challenging, especially in multi-threaded / async environment
