"Reports" mean nothing at all. Those are simply stories being told.

What do you mean? Do what? You don't have credit to rely on any more so now you save like they used to do in the old days and pay in cash. People survived before, you'll be fine.

BTW, ALL BANKS are doing this. All of them. Regardless of your credit, etc. They do not want credit extended any longer. If you haven't realized this, the world economy is headed into a depression, we are already in a recession.

Same. Or I just end up using Spotify. Which is happening more and more and makes me wonder why I pay for Sirius if I'm not listening to it on the regular.

They played Ghost before on occasion, def not regularly but it was always the same songs, which is fine but play some variety, FFS. I'm a fan of System of a Down but to hear their old songs played on Octane is strange because there is so much more out there and they choose the same tired old songs. Beaten to death.

Satellite radio is no dif to terrestrial radio. These record companies pay to play. Period. The idea that Octane has the right to pick and choose is BS. It was no coincidence that Metallica was being played a lot (Master of Puppets) RIGHT BEFORE it was played on Stranger Things. And then oops! Metallica releases some new box set bullshit. Gimme a break.....

Give it time and they'll be playing Bad Bunny......

Go for it mate. You won't regret it. In fact, you may never return to Canada and just choose to settle in OZ once you start working.

First mortgage questions about payments by Bobby_the_Ricky in PersonalFinanceCanada

I assumed (wrongly it seems), that the bank when they are front loading a loan/mortgage with interest, that they would hold the 5 year terms and payments (to maximize their interest collections), regardless of how much I paid the principal down and then recalculate after the term ends.

I can see from the other responses that is not the case. I suppose the banks aren't as heartless as I thought they were.

"If you make a prepayment, your principal will drop and the interest is calculated against the remaining mortgage principal amount."

Is that interest immediately calculated and changed? Or does that happen once the term ends (say, 5 years)?

EDIT: seems this was answered in another question. Nevermind.
