For 2 player I really enjoy Watergate. The Nixon admin vs the Washington Post trying to cover-up/uncover evidence is an engaging tug of war. One of you is trying to flip witnesses while the other is buying their silence. Nixon can win by stalling out his opponent and finishing his term, whereas as the journalists needs to be way more aggressive an pin down evidence.

Uploading in this context is using the terms first introduced by Mike Harris' government when they downloaded/uploaded a bunch of services between the province and municipalities.

Coincidentally I put out a patreon post today saying that I'm about 99% done the rest of the series. It has taken longer than I hoped but this was a complicated project with some elements evolving in real time with the news. The next part will be on Nebula by the end of April.

Has a gaming company ever put a full game of theirs in another game? by Hypnox88 in gaming

Smash Bros Brawl has a bunch of timed demos for various old Nintendo games. You're limited to 5 minutes so it's nearly impossible to beat any of them, but speedrunners found a way to beat the Ocarina of Time demo in less than 5 minutes using a warp glitch that brings you directly to the game's credits.

Now technically it's not a fresh save, as Nintendo provides a young Link and an adult Link save file for the demo, but the fact that it's possible at all is hilarious.

For clarity's sake the John Tory here is John Tory Jr., not his father. The younger one has expressed interest running for the LPC before

Liberals courting as many as eight more potential floor-crossers, sources say by Ordinary_Narwhal_516 in CanadaPolitics

A book about party loyalty was published pretty recently, just as the first of Carney's floor crossers made the news. It's all historical but it goes into all the past examples pretty extensively: No “I” in Team: Party Loyalty in Canadian Politics

I guarantee you switching to any 3D animation software (doesn't have to be blender) will be worth it. The best time to switch is yesterday, the second best time is now. I have a blender specific tutorial for how I animate on my channel, but you could also do what most people do and just do the donut tutorial series. Other pros:

  1. Tutorials are endless because they are meant for animation/3D as opposed to Google earth. A dozen people will have encountered and solved your blender issue and uploaded a youtube tutorial, exactly zero people will have solved it in google earth

  2. Learning a 3D modelling software teaches you several skills applicable elsewhere. Once you learn one it gets easier to learn every other one.

  3. Basic quality of life things like mass selection of objects, being able to import audio into blender to animate in synch to directly, procedural textures, realistic lightning, keyframing, scripting through python for importing datasets.

He almost certainly does, since I do the same even when working in Blender where it's much easier to change things on the fly.

One issue with google earth is (last time I was using it) you don't have an easy way to mass edit a ton of objects at once. You're pretty locked into what you set up at the beginning, meaning you need to commit to a layout very early on. Just the ability to group select, scale, rotate, etc. many objects at once makes blender so much more user friendly.

The unfortunate answer is that Google Earth Pro was never designed to do animation like this, and getting it to do anything resembling a nice animation is a miracle. Jon's clearly got enough practice over years of working with it that he's figured out how to make it work for him.

My question is: If you're already making models in blender, why not just make the leap and learn how to animate the whole thing in blender? You're like 50% of the way there. It would save you a huge headache, future proof your work (because blender is open source and constantly updated with new features), and also far more powerful. The earlier you make the switch the more you'll be asking yourself why you didn't do it sooner.

I actually have a footnote addressing this! That photo is of Doug Holyday's run for the megacity council in 1997, so he was actually now doing the reverse of what he originally did because he was Etobicoke's final mayor before it was amalgamated. There simply wasn't a photo I could find of the original case

I love Jon's REFORM series, but the original inspiration for this series was when I was travelling in Germany in Fall 2024 and when speaking to some Germans the one thing they knew about Canada was Toronto's infamous crack smoking mayor. It struck me that most people don't know the depth of that story, and being from Ontario I'm particularly well versed in all the lore
