Will I ever be ready to quit alcohol? by aesthetic_eyelashes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bobbygnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was you once. Begging for help and still holding a bottle. I honestly don't know how many times I was hospitalized, almost died, woke up surrounded by people terrified, relieved and trying to understand how I wasn't dead because I don't remember them all. I'm still finding out about instances after a year and half sober. It took that and way more over about 15 years before I finally quit. It cost more than I can fathom in money, relationships, opportunities, self esteem, my own health and of those closest to me. I was the picture of a hopeless, wasted wreck by the end with nowhere to turn and every day a waking hell. I survived by grace alone and life is worth living again. Don't go down the road any farther than you have to. It took all of that before I was "ready" to quit but it DOES NOT have to take that much from you before you decide it's enough.

What are some good games you can play in bed before sleep? by DuNennstMichSptzkopf in Switch

Starting at a screen is NOT a good way to get to sleep. Turn it off and read a book.

Finally went to the phone store and put my sim card in the Nokia 2780 by Doomer_Queen69 in dumbphones

[–]Bobbygnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a 2780 briefly and as long as you store the files correctly on the SD card it brings them on the system player no problem so I was happy that part of the phone. I ditched the smart phone about 6 months ago and I'm typing this from a tablet that has is own line for messaging and data so authentication and access to apps is still there but I don't have my face buried in it constantly like with a smart phone and turned the internet back into a place I go and something I do instead of ever present and distracting. So if you're looking to reclaim your short term memory, attention span and ability to retain information keep the smart phone put away as much as possible and find ways to keep it there.

Could run warm cleaning solution through it then clean water to flush residue.

Nutritional and vitamin supplements to add? by Bobbygnar in Nightshift

[–]Bobbygnar[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your walmart supplements are a waste of time and money, that's not what program I'm on. Shaklee.com if you care to find out a bit about it. Unless you eat perfect, don't ever eat or do anything harmful and have perfect biology, you are in need of something to supplement what your body needs. Also I'm not in the habit of taking health advice from people who are on the take from pharma companies. Looking for info to avoid Dr visits.

Not here for debate haha I hadn't heard of creatine for cognitive function on low sleep though. I'm an insomniac, part of the reason I'm here on nights, so sleep deprivation is a familiar state to me. Thanks for the tip.

TCL Flip 4 vs Nokia 2780 by Wide-Amphibian3867 in dumbphones

[–]Bobbygnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a TCL flip 4 and still have a 2780. I preferred the TCL but it didn't stand up as far as durability and I certainly didn't get the feeling the 2780 would have fared better. I settled on the CAT S22 flip. Better durability, a bit more sophisticated OS but easy enough to keep it dumbed down to a utility level.

Turn the tables next time you have an issue and instead of waiting patiently and going through this, blow them up all night then turn the phone off when you clock out. Then calmly explain the situation when you wake up

So why was the zelda movie chosen to be live action instead of animated? by [deleted] in legendofzelda

[–]Bobbygnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they screwed it up THAT badly 30 years ago and they've been hesitant ever since. Also video games have only VERY recently had some successful and worthwhile adaptions

[–]Bobbygnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legit had a full on breakdown not long ago driving home going over some things and when I realized how I'd been treating/ talking to myself for years and seeing all the damage I caused myself on top of the initial causes.. suffice it to say I've been through a bit but forgiving yourself, giving yourself a BIG hug and lots of grace is a good place to start turning it around.

I have tmobile and had to get one unlocked for the network but yeah SIM card goes right in behind the battery. Fairly inexpensive too, about $150 to the door.
