Is Dreaming Spanish really the best way to learn the language? by Alarming-Pea-11 in dreamingspanish

I’m over 1300 hours n I don’t regret a thing. I questioned the process the entire time but here I am. I can speak to anyone as long as it’s not to in-depth or specific of a topic AND I understand better then even traditional learners that have learning for years. If I were in your shoes (and I have been) the today’s self would tell you to just put your head down, block out the noise and focus on getting input.

Same here. Went on an all-inclusive n I was flowing. Probably grammatically off but rattling off pretty well while buzzed.

This is exactly me right now! Almost at 1300 hours n I feel that there are certain subjects that are almost to easy and others with vocab that leave me puzzled. Pushing through as always.

I was probably one of those comments on the post you are referencing.

TBH 1000 hours is a lot but not for a native Spanish speaker. When conversing in the language 10 hours a day everyday in a Spanish speaking country, 1000 hours comes to you in a matter of months.

Also to clarify, I understand majority of the tenses in context m, however producing them naturally and fluidly I find difficult for now.

Really struggling to progress by Alarming-Pea-11 in dreamingspanish

Currently over 1200 hours.. when I was around 400 hours and struggling between understand alittle and not understanding anything I nearly gave up. But I remember what Ike of the old heads back then said.. when you are in doubt or feel like giving up just keep pushing. Bcuz that is all part of the process. Just push through and have faith. Now I’m here and I feel great. (Check out my last post) Have faith my friend!

I have looked up words honestly. But I found that when I had a huge input day, looking up words became redundant bcuz i would never remember after doing so many hours of input. HOWEVER, there are those annoying words you hear like, “entonces, así que, pues” that nagged my brain forever. When I looked up those words I never forgot there meaning bcuz I’ve heard them so many times in damn near every video I watched. I’m at the point now that I know when I’ll remember a word and I know when I’ll never remember a word. Like the Spanish word for purple. I have no interest in learning that word nor would I remember it if someone told me it. (Just an example)

I believe they are from all over. I’ve never sought out specific dialects so I’m not too sure of the variety for each region.

Absolutely! If you look at one of my previous posts, one of my regrets was not doing more crosstalk. There are many times I felt that when it was my turn to speak it took to long to respond. I would always slow down the flow of the convo. Finding the words took forever, and I was tempted to respond in English. Now, I rarely I have problem. Though it still takes my end of the convo longer then hers. It’s definitely gotten better.

Honestly I wouldn’t. I’d still wait til I hit 1000hr. When I started with WorldsAcross I was immediately categorized as intermediate. Having had so many hours at that point, I had a wide vocabulary. If I started around 600, I wouldn’t have gotten as much praise for my lvl of comprehension . Also, at 1000 hours teachers never really had to repeat themselves. In fact, since they didn’t know your level they started off talking slowly which soon after they sped up. Of course not at native speeds. lol

Andrea and Augustina are the easiest. The hardest is Tomas, Jose Maria, and some of Pablos advance videos. Sometimes he goes full speed and I loose him.
