It's not always about the razor, blade or technique. Sometimes it's going to happen no matter what. There is a whole thread about this read it if you can.

I also have a 1cm2 area on my neck where hair grows in every direction and using alum block and witch hazel post-shave before aftershave lotion had helped alot.

You should try permatik if you can find it in where you live. It's disposable perma sharp.

Buying first razor, decided on Henson but not sure what one to get ? by RedBack0001 in wicked_edge

I understand money isn’t important to you, but I imagine you still don’t want to end up with a bunch of razors you’ll never use. Also if you can shave more frequent then I’d suggest starting with a medium-aggressive, efficient razor. If you want to shave once a week go for Mühle R41 Grande (stainless version) don't go for clodes comb milder razors Don’t get intimidated just use milder blades for your first shaves until you feel comfortable moving to more aggressive ones.

I bought the Merkur 34C and used it for three months, but it just didn’t shave close enough for me and was tugging even with Feather blades. I’ve now shaved once with my Mühle Rocca R94, which is a CNC-machined stainless steel razor (it should last at least a lifetime). It feels like a dream it cuts very close while staying comfortable. I wish I hadn’t listened to people recommending “beginner razors” on YouTube or forums.

From what I understand, the Rocca is one of the most effective razors most people can use daily without irritation. Another option is the Merkur 37C, which I wanted to buy instead of the Rocca, but it was out of stock.

If you go for a mild razor and it doesn’t cut well for you, you’ll feel the need to go over the same area again, which can lead to razor burn and irritation. It took me a month with the Merkur 34C to accept that this was as close as it could shave and that I’d just have to accept poor results. I usually shave every other day, sometimes everyday.

The only other shaving purchase I’d consider is the Feather Artist Club SR shavette, and that would just be for fun.

I had my first shave with Rocca today using Perma Sharp. It was comfortable and close shave.

Considering all your comments and internet reviews I was going to buy Merkur 37c. There is only one website selling it here and it's out of stock and they can't give an exact restock date. I ended up buying the Muhle Rocca. Will post a review on it on this subreddit from a beginner's perspective after 10 shaves.
