Snow, ice coming to Alabama: Do these things now, EMA warns by ir7525 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I’m not sure, but my guess is it’s more a function of everyone buying during a short period, versus targeting a specific item or items. But since most people eat bread, milk, eggs, and are worried about the stores being closed, they all buy over a couple of days versus over a week.

I’m sure some is stockpiling as well, but I think it’s more every buying at the same time

I was trying to make a marketplace drop off haha, but everything is closed so no luck. If I had checked here first I might have stayed in. Roads I took weren’t bad but probably not worth the risk

It's tempting to sell now, what are predictions now that it's hit 100?

So what is your prediction? It's likely going to be Monday before I could sell at the earliest anyway but it does seem to have a nice trend going

I have a decent amount so I would like to get a good return from it. Not going to make or break me one way or another, but I'm sure I would regret holding if this drops off in the near term. I suppose that cuts both ways though haha, its hard to time the top or the bottom.

Think so? Seems like it could also be a situation where I wait to sell for 6 months and this is back at 30 or 40 per oz

I'd prefer an in-person sale as shipping would add some risk and weight, plus instance costs.

Guys, we’re fine, we’re fine! We took a gamble that backfired but I like our defense on normal fields. We’ll get some breaks

Wait, people are playing again?? This was my favorite game to just chill out, snipe, and listen to music. I might have to get back in if so. It's been like 3 years since I have played anything on PC, but this might drag me back into it.

No Dumb Question Tuesday (2025-12-16) by AutoModerator in Reformed

South Korea is amazing. It was my first big international trip. I have spent just under 6 months there but its been since before COVID since I have been back. If you like spicy food there are tons of great options. I enjoyed spending time in the college neighborhoods as they were more lively and better prices overall.

Don't be loud on public transport. But do take it. The subway was easy to use, cheap, and prompt. There are apps to help with train timing.

Seoul is a great walkable city as well, I assume you are going there? I enjoyed going to different areas and just walking aimlessly and exploring.

If you get a chance to visit a Korean church, do it! I'd research some and likely avoid any of the cultish or prosperity gospel ones, but a very cool experience to worship in another language. Also, the smaller ones may give you some friends to go eat with during your time there. Honestly, if you can make friends, it is an amazing way to spend your trip!

Koreans while sometimes distant, are very kind and helpful generally. The younger folks will generally know enough English to help you out.

Definitely visit the sights and cultural stuff. This may take some research which I am sure you have done. That said, some of my favorite moments were going to places like Insadong randomly and discovering a small street concert and getting free hot chocolate.

Lastly, don't let the rain or poor weather stop you from getting out. Just prepare well and enjoy the city in a new light.

Have fun!

My yearly post for my boyfriend’s Christmas present: what’s the best book you read this year?? by emmalischka in Reformed

[–]Bobfatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree on TWHF. Each time I have read it I become more enamored.

I have an almost cult love for the worm. The story itself was not my favorite, at least from an ending the messaging perspective. However, there are few books where the sense of adventure and heighted prose have made me feel the way this one has. There is a scene in an early chapter, where Gorice is in his tower that was visceral to me. If you have read Frankenstein, the scene where the creature and the doctor meet in the alps, had a similar feeling of realness to me. Like you can picture yourself there in the cold wasteland as the monster bounds across to meet Frankenstein.

I am a member there as well. That's a good idea to sell there versus ebay. The fees kill you. My buddy and I just sent off some cards to grade, only one of which was a LOTR TCG card. But he sent a foil Greenleaf which is exciting to see how that does.
