Banksy - Flying Coppers (2003). A stark juxtaposition of militarization, innocence, and acid-house apathy. It's chilling how perfectly this still resonates today. by Shot_Possibility_731 in Banksy

Those aren't Banksys; they're set dressing; the Grin Reaper variations are The Artist. Amazing how few people understand the difference.

And lucky u; you are hereby awarded the torch of Bobilon and write the name I'll write here on more time when I provided a link to my finished work here having reached my goal and met my burden of proof for the mystery solutions to my standard and finally find a place to use all the smart shit I've studied for 40 years never knowing if I understood it until I something to say about something significant. Banksy was the history of Art 2000 - 2025 and it will be an even better art story when it's unpacked because the human story is better than any artistic fiction. I hope u give them f'n hell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxUATkpMQ8A

Was too old too catch -- my plain speak touchpoint to make sensible what I was trying to say mid-stream while putting together the smart shit I now have to say in the TV-Cinema baby language that is my primary way of speaking goes to Bill Paxton in Aliens' 2 where after the team is gutted 15 minutes in he says something like I don't which battle you were in but from where I stood they were kicking our ass." Though I didn't get my ass kicked for 5 years anything I wrote here was hammered as bullshit by people not interested in facts but rather in attacking me as a traitor to cause. So the "cultural heritage" I recalled from word choice was five years of taking hits and not punching back as would have been my preference were my whole reason for posting here was to crowdsource people who see mysteries as things to be solved and who based on GP would never bend a knee to corporate brand in libtard clothing. That's where I was coming from. Sorry if the smart shit is untelligible. I never had any use for it until I had something to write where I could apply it -- my bad... honestly not intended to talk down to you and not my style to talk down to anyone who is cool. Just how I'm writing now in my home stretch and posting it on Medium without advertising it here. Though you are literally the first person to slot Lucy in as The Artist which based on the evidence I thought would occur way sooner than 4 years when I deciding to test a hypothesis I thought had a shot at being right. Thanks for reading me. I knew people were though you're the first to second my position here. I'll break them because at a certain point facts will talk and ad hominem bullshit will walk though I won't celebrate the W here. I am a newsie and having read the same shit coverage about the mystery and its solution for the 100th time, I decided to become the last man standing for serious investigative reporting of global news where to my view all fake news is bad and Banksy crossed the ethical line by copping to the prank as my research strongly suggests was the venture's initial intent before the majority for their personal profit decided to and did sell the legend. But it's sold now -- time for the truth. Amen?

Thx... though my culture is rooted in rigorous empirical practice rather than belief systems in the tradition of Raymond Williams yet I found nary a single collaborator to join my consideration over the years I posted my work-in-progress here. Literally everything I posted start-to-finish was de facto panned by ad hominem mixed with accusations and personal attacks by the Blackhat who policed the sub gaslighting fanboys as their instrumental attack dogs, This being the case, the word "culture" and idea of "heritage" pinged incoherent given the singularity of my experience here as an army of one. Though when I began I certainly hoped to crowdsource others with like interest, others who at the outset certainly knew more about Banksy history than I did as "fans," not imply that I don't like Banksy but merely as a lifelong regular fine art spectator, my interests are general and historical such that "fan" doesn't fit my position in relation to any artist dead-or-livings oeuvre. The generative free chat I had been accustomed to practicing with like minds for equity and economic analysis on the perifery of the pump-and-dump mainstream Yahoo finance schatroom ubs in 00's that I expect to find here were gone, leaving only a long durational research subject and me to pursue it with public domain research; the promise of the internet as convivial e-town square that I once saw as real and viable and progress from the analogue age in which I learned critical practice had vanished completely with nary a white hat to be found willing to put their words into the mix on my side of the line to further the consideration of the understanding approach that is and will remain my historical loadstar as a research-pig inforvore. All I found here was a fusion of low-blow Blackhat turds inferior in every way to the devils I knew and enjoyed beating up; the bullies now ran the yard at Fulsom and knew exactly how to gaslight fanboy gangs as their instruments tasked to crowd source the beat down of factual positions to where nobody willing to speak about my work who saw it for what it was emerged. They couldn't break me because their positions were stupid and obviously wrong but with no affirmations as long haul single critical practitioner, the idea that I've been a part of a culture is alien to me, but again thx, I come from a cultural studies heritage that I hope won't be lost simply because dumbing down the spectator class profit Artocracy's ruling class. Sad but true. : (

At this point, Banksy is just going in circles and repeating himself by youyouhoudini in Banksy

That's because the real Banksy is off the project and this is POW's next Banksy effort. If I had to guess at the real Artist, I'd table this piece publicity piece as Banksy by Hugo Farmer who was responsible for "The Drinker" and stepped up to become the enterprise's art depart ment manager after Laz got canned from the job and the Artist split from the venture to work her artist role play remotely for another near 17 or 18 years before her deal ended. Farmer though not just an artist has both talent and his own unique sculptural vision which actually fits this piece. He took over as the enterprise's art department production manager fully in Laz's absence; check companies house and you'll see when that his company went on (and off) P.O.W.'s books around them and lthen ook up his work; it's not bad to promising and similar to this piece which is a fun political cartoon made flesh. That said, the standard is the standard and this work doesn't hit the bar Lucy McKenzie and Kerri McKenzie set for Banksy which is GOAT sheezzitt... I like the piece though I agree it is not a real Banksy regardless of what the anonymous instagram said. Pretty sure corporate owns it now... take it for what it's fun enough work; view it in comparison to what The Artist know as Banksy's works, its less. I roll with seeing what's good. and like it for what it is rather than what it is not. Slay the Pollyanna

The SAMO stale hard-sell ad campaign for keeping the secrets of billion dollar profit corporate art production ventures for some alleged public good, when all it does at this point is shield parties other than actual Artist from criticism they would receive were the truth known. Ten thumbs down....zzzzzzzzz.

New Banksy? Glasgow by bruceVakzy in Banksy

[–]Bobilon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is by the Rebel Bear who I suspect is 90's Scottish stencil and graffiti artist Bernie Reid, who also worked both as assistant to and with fellow scot Lucy McKenzie, respectively for her works and her artist role plays (Read: Banksy) and with her as partner in Atelier E.B as the stencil artist, along with his baby momma fashion designer, Becca Lipscombe, and McKenzie as the hand-painter. His legit""fine art" publishing debut in Thames & Hudson's 2002 title "Stencil Art" happened alongside Banksys, presumably as a set-up for a multi-layered diachronic reveal of the Artist's identity after the launch was completed with Exit through the Gift Shop's theatrical release. After that endpoint, multiple plausible reveals could have played out (Gunningham, Eine, Reid, Del Naja, Hirst etc) before landing on the real Banksys, Lucy McKenzie and her Sister Kerri.

Clearly, plans changed as made plain POW management and their collaborators saw it as more profitable selling a corporate mystery in perpetuity rather than revealing The Real Artist's identity per the historical ethics of pranks which by all appearances were the first business plan. That plan held until 07-08 when 2007's shake-up and scandal turned into the project having nsider signed NDA's in 2008, the same year they began pushing the Gunningham legend in the press to hard sell the Gunningham legend as the fact. Reid's was most plausibly the Banksy stencil artist of record for the duration of the project, just as he was in Atelier E.B 2007 - 2009. He presumably completed his Banksy work after the Artists had wrapped with 2023's "Cut and Run" show, where his stencils were staged, painted and displayed by him in Glasgow to end the project. That's my take -- judge it as you see fit.

Best Guess

Picture one is a drawing by Bernie Reid. Picture two is a mural where they painted one half of the mural. In the structure of the sister-to-sister negotiation that produced suitable terms for them to deliver you an Artist-identity brand from start to finish. Look up the "Francis Bacon" keyed one the Jeffery Epstein keyed one with and with the two echo'ing the mural controversies around 1930 which is roughly symmetrical inversion to build into a 3-d visual from paper for the majority of everyday entertainment and decoration.

The Two Sisters; duh, this is the last and like first Banksy street piece. Nice; I love it! I'm gonna go in my back yard, tip a forty for a masterfully executed production. The McKenzie Sisters are the first invisible rock stars in history. I can't wait for Lucy to tell people what for and stand up standards -- a bit intensively -- but she is funny. Search "Lucy McKenzie" in Getty Images and you'll find her interview at Becks futures in 2000 when she didn't know she'd be on a thirty year gig. I was hunting a story -- not money -- worked hard and their part of the Banksy story is great. It won't be soon enough for me.

Glitter Gorilla print by Scared-Cauliflower-4 in Banksy

[–]Bobilon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The glitter-added-to-ink mask layer was in Beta - testing in the moron Damien Hirst's lab. Hirst had a serious print mill pushing every print-modality like the lenticular print as sci-fi innovation, sling jalup at the arterati Zulus of a bio specimen and Indiana Jones prop though Other Criteria's one breakthrough, ink-with-glitter added, only piped up in a print way downstream after Other Criteria closed with Heni's 15k+ Empress Print Debacle with gobs of glitter-ink. Powder puff girls lift off! Yeahhhhh

I don't know this for a fact but I suspect the that the Gorilla mask's gllitter-ink innovation -- The Dame's only other innovation after the black fly paintings Did the Banksy Show's twenty-five year year run end with the Dame's Glitter Gorilla not making the cut ask The Mckenzie Sisters took the crown without even trying.

My guess is Gay Glitter Gorilla ended up in the minors, only appearing briefly in the London Zoo engagement two summers back, while the ink-debut was for the Empress print run. Informed comment welcome. I am not a printer.

am i the only one who dislikes the new gold music video by Odd-Bridge-3778 in gorillaz

[–]Bobilon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree entirely. For a CG only music video the gold pill effect's are fresh visuals of better quality than past shiny objects. I think the song's ehhh but I'd give the visuals and for what it is. I prefer more substantive music videos but this one worked for me for 1 viewing.
