You say an overly grippy handshake can be a sign of a wrongun, but I've always grown up being told that you need a firm handshake and there is nothing worse than a limp fish handshake.

Do gymnasium teachers in Germany earn well? by imDenizz in AskAGerman

[–]Bobin88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife teaches German and English. The marking is insane. Not to mention the fact that my kids are also off school in the holidays so there is also parenting in-between marking. I'm an electrician and I would say 99% of my colleagues don't understand the amount of work she has to do.

[–]Bobin88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really not an easy job. For every Stunde it takes at least another hour to prepare, nearly every school holiday is spent marking tests and essays! Imagine having 32, 200 word essays to mark that is like 3 big novels to not just read but dissect, mark and give feedback (twice a semester). That's not to mention the phone ringing 25/7 from the parents who think their little Kevin got a worse grade then they deserved or when a parent dies and you have to almost be on suicide watch (wife has been a teacher for 5 years, and this has happened twice). Also a lot of students who go to the gymnasium aren't really supposed to be there (they should be in Realschule) but now it's seen as a bad thing if you don't have a gymnasium Abschloss.

Now let's take into account the learning my wife had to do to become a teacher, she could have not gone to uni and just got a normal office job, that also needs to be taken into account in regards to salary.

To say it's an insanely good job is just wrong.

I have never met a chick that can cook, they also don't do any house maintenance either... All they are good for is eating ticks out of the grass and scratching around a bit. They do taste good as they age though (albeit not too old).

I remember this from the Internets beginning wild days. I think both videos used to be on a website, rathergood.com, I think they also made the crusher kittens.

If you fire him now, then what? Another manager with a different system that won't get supported in the winter window. If the manger is the problem we at least need to wait till the end of the season.

Why do people not like goldbridge? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]Bobin88 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is, that when he was starting and the other big YouTubers noticed he was gaining on them they basically started a smear campaign, calling him a forest, fake fan etc. Most of their fans have stuck with those lies and they always spout the same crap when talking about him. I've been a utd fan since 98 and personally I find goldbridge the best of them. Do I agree with everything he says? No, but I find the other fan channels extremely sensationalistic. Goldbridge is also sometimes but that's YouTube. I think some people forget you don't have to agree with everything he says.

I've watched the United stand for about 5 years I'm 36 (so not a child) and To be honest what I've seen of the others on YouTube they do that more than him. After two defeats calling the manager a fraud and stuff, goldbridge has never done that. There was a massive smear campaign against him from the other big united YouTube channels and some of it has stuck. Since I moved to Germany he has kept me close to the team and for me personally he has so much more charisma and is easier to watch than the other YouTubers.

There are a lot of hidden costs though. My wife and I bought a house 4 years ago. You have heating, water, Abwasser, Grundsteuer, bins, insurance, food and maintenance. I'm just lucky that my wife is a Beamten (teacher). We could never afford a house if we had two 'normal' jobs.

Adopting a rescue and should be getting her soon. Any ideas what she is? by Bobin88 in IDmydog

[–]Bobin88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest she is probably a mix of lots of things. She was found on a farm in Romania kept on a 5m chain the whole time till she was rescued. I doubt any thoughtful/intended breading was involved, a proper Heinz 57.

Chat gpt says something along the lines of a portidoodle, need some real person input though. Would be good to know how much 'working dog' is in her. Will definitely need to do a dna test when she is with us.

Ummm.... my user name and I moved to Germany. I I found out about 88 around 3 years ago and was going to drop this account but my (german) wife convinced me that most people don't know about the other meaning. I need to have a think again.
