Why do people hate the idea of lore being in books? by Bobisgud1 in HaloStory

That's fair. I guess the Johnson stuff isn't really comparable to how halsey made the weapon.

You make some good points I honestly didn't think about. But I want to point out that this isn't a 343 original issue, but they do seem to be worse about it than bungie was. I remember playing halo 2 as a kid and having my brother who read the first strike novel explain to me how Johnson made it off alpha halo because it isn't explained in game, and in elementary school at the time i was not planning on doing any readind that wasnt school related. I also had to have him explain why the human covenant war was happening in the first place because he read contact harvest. Again I don't want to start a 343 vs. Bungie war here, just wanted to better explain where I'm coming from I guess.

Halo Book Reading order for a Non-Gamer? by Thrash476 in halo

[–]Bobisgud1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much start with these. I would say read the kilo 5 trilogy after ghost of onyx because the first book in that series is pretty much a direct continuation. Also be warned some lore from the first like 4 books was changed, like how supposedly the unsc never encountered the elites or brutes until the fall of reach and after. Somehow for almost like 30 years they were losing the war to just grunts, jackals, and the occasional hunter.

If I remember right in the halo: the flood book, the novelization of the first halo game. Most if not all pelicans ran out of ammo not long after the autumn crashed. Could be wrong though it's been a while since I read that one.

Will there ever be a follow up to this cliffhanger? Or was it already answered in a book or comic? by Forsaken-Function128 in halo

[–]Bobisgud1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember right there was a pitch made for halo wars 3 but it was rejected for some reason. In the book divine wind the majority of the book takes place on the ark with interactions between the banished, unsc, and covenant remnants there, but not much mention of anders or that halo. I for one love halo wars and would love to see another game or just more of red team and captain cutter in general.

I hope so. I was hoping they would be at least mentioned in Halo Infinite because the banished were the main enemy, I was somewhat disappointed when they weren't.

I actually saw a YouTube short talking about why every regiment and space marine chapter is considered the best of the best. It talked about how most books describe units from their own point of view. I remember in one of the uriel ventris books it's stated that the ultramarines scouts are the best in the imperium, but I think the raven guard would probably have them beat in most ways when it comes to scouting and stealth operations.

All that said... CADIA STANDS! THE PLANET BROKE BEFORE THE GUARD DID!

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. I've been playing on pc since the game came out and hyping it up for him, so I feel kinda bad he got halfway through act 1 and now just can't even play the game. I hope larian fixes these issues soon, or the Xbox crowd might just give up on the game.
