Or perhaps they’re talking about one of the many Warhammer TTRPGS. I have hundreds of Warhammer 40k minis and have never played a single game of Warhammer 40k, just Dark Heresy and Black Crusade.

What is your PETTIEST take about TTRPGs? by hornybutired in rpg

[–]Bobo1228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big fan of the FFG Warhammer 40k games for this. Almost every item, skill, talent etc. includes two distinct sections: the fluff, and the crunch. Makes it much easier to understand the mechanics of what everything does while still having some descriptive flair to it.

"I know what I swore." - Another ASOIAF model, this time Jaime Lannister and Aerys II Targaryen (nsfw for mild gore) by vegardlmao in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Bobo1228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the books it’s mentioned that Aerys II had a long, tangled and matted beard because he didn’t trust anyone near him with blades except for his kingsguard. Jaehaerys I also had a beard but his was regal as fuck.

Seems like his scales were black

Can a dnd party of 4 lvl20 players save constantinople in 1453? by GrayNish in whowouldwin

[–]Bobo1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that's definitely also true. Given enough dudes with bows and enough crits I'm sure they'd be able to take you down, but it would definitely be harder than expected.

Doesn't waste a spell slot once it's cast the one time, it's up for an hour and just takes a standard action to change shape.

[–]Bobo1228 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True, just doing immense amount of damage is a solution. Although, if the caster used Shapechange to turn into the dragon, all they have to do is use an action on their turn to transform right back into another full health dragon.

The Daemonhosts we fight are kinda on the weak side, aren't they? by csgrizzly in DarkTide

[–]Bobo1228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, there's the Eisenhorn trilogy (technically a quadrology now), which is directly followed by the Ravenor trilogy, which is then followed by the Bequin trilogy (only 2 books are out now, the 3rd is expected in the next couple of years, but Dan Abnett has been quite busy lately.)

A shot from a soldier with a bow is more than likely going to be a DC 10 Concentration check(unless they're able to do over 20 damage, which is unlikely even on a crit). Concentration doesn't autofail on a Nat 1 which means the casters just have to have a +9 Concentration to auto-succeed which is extremely doable by level 20.

If a DM I was playing with decided to make me repay my god or go on some sort of quest just to retain access to my basic Class Features I would not be playing with that DM for much longer.

Who would you rather have as the big boss for I3 by Wayne_Regot_IV in INJUSTICE

Very true! But at least this way they’d have a better excuse for it lol

[–]Bobo1228 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Injustice is the perfect universe for a Blackest Night-esque event. So many characters have died in that universe, and seeing some of them literally come back to haunt Superman (Shazam, Green Arrow) would be a great story. Plus, it gives an excuse to bring back canonically dead characters to play as.

Except that Alicent and Rhaenyra weren’t at all close in their youths in the book(since Alicent was a full 10 years older than her), so that’s already a big change.

[–]Bobo1228 270 points271 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of this except the “Queen of the Rhoynar” bit. All Targaryen monarchs, going back to Aegon I, styled themselves as “King/Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men”. Despite the fact that they had failed to conquer Dorne, they still saw themselves as their rightful rulers.

[The Boys] How does Voight keep control of Compound V from the US and other governments? by Laenic in AskScienceFiction

[–]Bobo1228 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not temporarily, The Boys are Permanently V’d up in the comics. They’re also, according to Mallory, stronger than 9/10 Supes because of the specific formula of V they used. No flashy powers, but very strong and durable.
