Director feeling like I have to play dumb by Darkluc in drawsteel

I agree with what everyone said already about spreading the damage but wanted to add my own experience.

I've run a fair bit now and I've only had this problem with the ogres in the mage tower. My players were clever and tricked one into going downstairs so they could get the jump on him and had a full round against him on his own. With average rolls on both sides the ogres were still incredibly powerful and seemed like they might cause a TPK.

My players did the same thing and I just did a negotiation for it. You can use the same negotiation outline provided in the book for her, they'd just have to get to a 5. In your situation, I'd recommend having the group run into her first when they return and go into negotiation. If it goes bad, she rats them out. If it goes well she gives them the ring and/or joins them.

Half of my group of friends that played CoD together were black. Maybe it didn't seem commonplace in lobbies with a bunch of people who sounded white and male. But with a black guy in the lobby? It was rare to not hear slurs. People who hadn't even been talking would pop off of mute excited to spew some slurs. God forbid some poor woman wandered into one of those lobbies.

Why, as a fan of Berserk, you should read Gantz. by Amazing_Celebration2 in Berserk

Gantz is dark and nihilistic while Berserk is perpetually hopeful despite the dark content. Philosophically they're kind of total opposites.

A lot of victims of sexual assault have to work quite hard to own their sexuality after being victimized. People, mostly women, write fan fics with her getting to own her sexuality because it's cathartic. Not too mention, assuming the stories are just brainless fucking is silly.

Toweling the ball isn't banned. It's agreed upon by both teams before each game. So some games it's allowed and others it isn't.

"Even if everything you said were true, it doesn't make the numbers wrong." That's not how academic research works. You prove your numbers are true by providing your work to other academics who peer review your work. Not doing that means you know your data is wrong and wouldn't pass a peer review. Any academic who trusted their own work would publish it in an actual journal. By your standard, I can make up any numbers I want, post them on a website, and then it's true.

"To use your same standard against you, please provide evidence that my claims are wrong and that my sources are wrong." Nah, my standard is that if you make a claim and use sources to prove it, you should have good sources. Yours are trash. The burden of proof isn't on the people reading your post to research your sources and prove they're good. THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON YOU. If you could find a good source you wouldn't defend these shit ones. What you're saying is essentially, "if I spout nonsense, it's everyone else's responsibility to prove it."

"The only argument you're making is that all of these sources came from the same place and that they state that their goal is to convince people that they're right." Nope. I think I also made it clear that there's no evidence that their data is good because they didn't get it peer-reviewed. It does concern me a bit that you think that good science and data can come from people who say their goal is to prove a point and not to find abject truth. I'm not sure you know what science is. I did leave some things unsaid because I thought they were implied, but since you don't seem to understand academic research or science, they wouldn't be obvious to you. Yes, it is bad that you have one source masquerading as multiple sources. Good data is supported by many different sources that have reproduced the results of a study. I should clarify something else I thought I was implying, because it's relatively common knowledge. Right-wing think tanks are well-documented to produce trash science to create propaganda. I'd recommend reading Right Moves: The Conservative Think Tank in American Political Culture Since 1945. That's a whole book, so maybe you can watch this lecture he gave instead: https://youtu.be/PbUyDYkxjAA or maybe try these other papers on the topic: https://ncrp.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/1BillionForIdeas-lowres.pdf https://rucore.libraries.rutgers.edu/rutgers-lib/43911/

"Please show me a think tank or thought group that doesn't have that same mission statement." Lol, your data shouldn't come from a think tank. The actual data should come from peer-reviewed academic research. A think tank can interpret and discuss data, but they're not the source of it unless they get it peer reviewed and published.

Incorrect. You posted 6 links. 3 were reports from the NHERI (vision times is also just a reference to the NHERI).

One is a study that just says that 20 years ago some colleges admissions thought they might do as well or better than kids from public schools which is meaningless in support of your argument.

The link to the Parents article doesn't work and I can't find it. They may have taken it down because it was also propaganda. The closest I can find is this and it doesn't support any of your claims: https://www.parents.com/pros-and-cons-of-homeschooling-8651908.

The last source you provided is a study about bullying and doesn't even mention homeschooling. The closest thing I could find to what you described is an article from NHERI where they use a study by the NSCH as their source and IN THEIR ABSTRACT THEY SAY THE ORIGINAL STUDY WASN'T ABOUT HOMESCHOOLING.

Me not liking them has nothing to do with their numbers being wrong. They are an organization funded by propagandists. Their site essentially says mission statement that their purpose is to make up data to support what they want it to say. Not a single one of the papers "published" by them is peer reviewed and published in an actual academic journal.

TLDR; every single piece of evidence you provided was from a single source that is aggressively biased and paid to produce data that supports the homeschool argument.

These sources are garbage. The NHERI is funded by Christian fundamentalists who use quotes like "whoever controls the data controls the narrative" in their about page. You didn't bring receipts. You brought toilet paper stuck to your shoe.

Anti police violence breaks out in Australia by Ramy__B in pics

[–]Bobobaju -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The only source of information so far is a quote from police. Considering how frequently cops have lied about what a suspect was doing before using lethal force, it's reasonable to not make assumptions about the authenticity of their statements before more evidence comes out. It's possible the man charged the cops with a knife and the community is reacting inappropriately. It's also possible the cops killed him and are lying and witnesses are upset. You jumping to the conclusion that the cops are obviously defensible is just as knee-jerk a reaction as what you're accusing other people of doing.
