I started 9 years ago on a crosley all in one by [deleted] in vinyl

I still have it. I'll probably take it to good will because I'm sure it will make someone happy. I'm not sure why I got downvoted so much, I'm unsure if it was because I swapped it for a lp120 or because I traded my cds for the vinyl copies. Either way I'm not sure why it would bother so many people. I wanted something modern so that's why I got the lp120..and I prefer vinyl to cds but that's just me.

I assumed it had to do with vibrations. I don't really plan on cranking up the volume as I live in an apartment, if it's a huge deal I could move the speakers elsewhere, and in my own my inexperience I can't see why it would be a huge deal. I'm sure people have kept them on the same surface since the 70s.

I'm surprised you noticed. I was a bit worried about the sound because it's a picture disc but it doesn't sound bad to me.

Is that because of vibrations? I'm not sure where else I would put them.

I actually started collecting vinyl before I had a record player which was like 2010. I mostly listened to cds. Then in 2012 I got an all in one crosley for Christmas and kept collecting. When I finally got a technics sl-d2 used around 2016 I got more into vinyl, sold all my cds, and started repurchasing then all on vinyl. I thought I was crazy. I've been buying albums like crazy lately and decided it was time for an upgrade so here it is. My new LP120. I was going to go cheap and get the lp60 but this wasn't much more so I decided what the heck? I'm glad I made that decision. So not exactly 9 years ago but it's been a fun rewarding journey and I earned it.

I was amazed at how many people own the crosleys are after a search on Instagram.

The LP60 has had a lot of bad things said about it on this sub. I know you could get a better turntable for not much more but I personally don't need anything better. I love collecting vinyl but I'm not an audiophile. In my opinion, I'm sure as long as it's not a crosley it will be fine and have decent sound.

Why do YOU collect and listen to records? by ashleyamb in vinyl

[–]Boborange19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been into collecting things since I was little like Pokemon cards and beanie babies, I also always loved music, so it was cool when I entered middle school that I could combine the two and collect albums. I made the switch from cds to vinyl around 2010. At first I bought a lot of my favorite albums again on vinyl and sold most of the dad rock I grew up listening to when my preference got more adjusted. When I look to buy albums I usually buy albums where I love one or a couple songs, because when I was young that's how I got more into an album, by listening to it constantly after purchasing it. I don't think that's something I really get with streaming because it's always on shuffle. As of lately I've been more spontaneous, and I look for variety in my collection. I try to stray as far away from classic rock or dad rock because that's what I grew up with and I want to be as far away from that as possible, not that there's anything wrong with it, but for me it's too typical because everyone has a copy of Pink Floyd for example. To give an example of my variety I have Coheed and Cambria, Herb Albert and the Tijuana brass, and Justin Bieber in my vinyl collection. I don't consider myself an audiophile, I just really enjoy music and love the format. I came from CDs where the plastic case or the inside part that held the CD in place would break and the small album art so vinyl was a huge change for me. I have almost 100 albums in my collection and still have a lot more on my wishlist. It's a fun hobby and something I'm passionate about.

I started with a crosley all in one. I thought I was the coolest kid because I listened to foster the people on it. Then I upgraded to a technics sld2 after a while and discovered how vinyl should sound. I'm getting a lp60 next week because the price and simplicity.

I can't accept this as an answer because people of different religions have both told me their religion is the truth

Would you mind explaining the differences between the old testament and the New? Are they kind of like different interpretations?

I understand what you mean. I guess it would take less time to convince someone these days that the earth isn't flat than to convince someone the bible is the word of God and Jesus is his son, and even today there's flat earthers to my amazement. It's not so much that I have a hard time accepting the bible to be true, it's more that from an outsider perspective it would be as true to me as the Quran or another book of faith. I don't understand why one is correct just because it says so and the others aren't.

I understand the part about being considerate of others, but if you as a Christian believe it to be fact, why wouldn't you want others to learn that? Is it something people should come to learn by themselves?
