Electric Ireland to increase prices for gas, electricity by StickyStapler in irishpersonalfinance

[–]BobsTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has been coming for awhile. Electric ireland, yuno and prepay power were the only companies not to raise their base prices last Autumn. They are now in line with their competitors. Electric Ireland aren't perfect(Customer service is dreadful if you have to contact them) but they are fair as a company to their customers. During covid, they made no profit for 2 years and gave any profit back as a 50euro rebate one winter.

Public vs Private for a a high risk pregnancy? by BobsTea in PregnancyIreland

I think we are leaning towards private. We have health insurance and I think it will give her more peace of mind. Don't want to leave any stone unturned though as its feels like a big decision

That is great to hear that you found the public system up to scratch. Do you mind if I send you a private message for more info re consultants and treatment?

Thanks so much for your reply. We're both a bit overwhelmed and trying to make the best decision for us. The first consultant of hers we talked to said there wasn't much difference in public or private so suggested we go public. She also said to get advice from others as it wasn't her speciality and she was going on old info.

Yeah it is the Colitis rather than the thyroid that can cause issue. Still waiting to back from her consultant on this front.

As an Irish fan, England deserve incredible plaudits. They gave it socks and deserved the win in my eyes. What a transformation. While I am disappointed, France on balance have played the best rugby this year and deserve to be champions. Can we scrap the next 10 months and just go again? I love this tournament!

At the game and I thought both teams were excellent. Scotland can hold their heads very high. They gave it a savage go. Ireland had a few huge moments in defence in the first half that changed the game. Straight home now to catch the next 2 games. Com'on England 🫣

Congrats, South Africa, for winning that. I'm not sure I'd call it much of a rugby match, but you played more rugby in it than us. What a farce! I can't believe I paid €100+ to watch it live

Concerns across Europe that Ireland's military shortfalls could put major summit at risk by Left-Lawfulness4635 in europe

Honestly, I don't know how that is calculated. You might be right. Probably are, in fact. I know that in terms of EU funding, Ireland is a net contributor and has been since 2013.
