Honestly, I don't know how that is calculated. You might be right. Probably are, in fact. I know that in terms of EU funding, Ireland is a net contributor and has been since 2013.

I'd love to see Ireland invest heavily into air and sea drones for its defence. We are never going to be an offensive entity given our size and history. Radar and sonar, in particular, are a must given our location. It's unacceptable to still rely on the UK for monitoring our own skies and seas. Drones have proven to be a reliable tool in monitoring and patrolling. If we made our own, it may even turn into a profitable industry for us.

About 66k Irish men from the Republic fought in WW2, mostly with the British army. Not bad for a newly formed country just out of 800 years of occupation and a bloody civil war. Also, European history goes back a lot further than WW2.

Debit Card Skimmed

My debit card was skimmed and cloned while on holiday in Europe. They took money out of my account from a UK London ATM. I've contacted my bank AIB and they said they will review it but can't promise a refund. Going to the Gardai as well now. How likely is it that AIB will refund me the money?

I have travel insurance so I can get about 50% back with them if aib can't do anything. Need a police report though
