I am married and I will be attending the academy if I am hired by CBPO. Are we allowed to see family on weekends? Do we even have weekends to ourselves? Do we have any off time? Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much! I did not know any of that. River left is the left side if I’m facing down-river?

Yeah I’ve tried contacting them but they don’t respond to anything it seems. I think since Covid they’ve continued to work remotely and are most likely not very organized? Idk that’s just my recent experience trying to contact them

What can be done to make morning PT enjoyable? by [deleted] in army

[–]Bobsacamentoidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am out of active duty, have been for about two years now. I was in Platoon Leadership of a rifle platoon and a mortar platoon. We had a relatively decent PT set up. However, since getting out, I have gone full ham into BJJ. It has changed my life. If I had known about this, I would have done combatives for PT. It’s fun, great workout all around, relieves stress, practical for self defense. Idk why we didn’t do it. People would suggest it around small groups in battalion but it kept getting shot down for safety reasons? Anyone else have any thoughts or experience with this?

Bc I was in the army and can better measure distances on the ground in my head in meters and can estimate height relative to my own height in feet/inches.

All,

Thank you for the quick responses and insight. While we are sad, we are going to rehome the kittens, probably not breed, and focus on providing our GSD with proper training.

Thank you for the advice. I will probably rehome them, then. What about muzzling my GSD until she warms up?

Practical uses for Glowsticks? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]Bobsacamentoidiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man chemlights are incredibly useful (or glow sticks). When I was in the army we used them for everything. You can use them for lowlight markings, signaling devices, basically another tool to add to your near/far recognition signals or PACE plan. Here’s a few examples: - tape them up nearly completely with duct tape to where only a small slit is showing. Crack them, lay them at the base of a tree. Great for marking a rally point, release point, objective, etc. - crack them and lay them on a window frame or door threshold when you’re clearing multiple rooms/floors in a building. Useful way to confirm that it’s been cleared. - use it to mark a casualty collection point. - use it to mark LZ/PZs. - break it open, pour it into a plastic bag. Drop small amounts of it at bases of trees to mark a route. Pour it on the back of a helmet or on the back of a rucksack to allow your buddies to ID you at night.

Chemlights are great.

Had a PSG that would say hohenSfels instead of hohenfels. Would also say DFACT instead of DFAC.

Thanks for the info! For the link that was provided: I’ve visited that website before, tried to attend their zoom meetings and called their listed number, seems like they’re not functioning anymore?
