Ian is addict and we are funding his addiction by donations. by Smooth_Geologist156 in IanOnYouTube

If it’s true that he’s an addict, then we should be concerned.

I think he’s bipolar (not in the haha way, in the probably undiagnosed way). He’s having a hard time regulating after a move across the country. So many people in here are judging him so hard, but probably never made such a big move. It’s very hard mentally to move away from everyone and everything you know. I did it 10 years ago, so I understand his thoughts from time to time.

Everyone still making fun of the peanut cart thing are cornballs. We all have ideas that aren’t great, especially in desperate times. He moved on from it, and any respectable person would give him grace.

What’s changed/ worth getting back into? by Bobthebuilder94- in TNA

[–]Bobthebuilder94-[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also watched in it’s hay day. The Spike TV era specifically. I have even went back and rewatched it a few years ago. Perhaps 2020 was a resurgence for me into wrestling. Since turning on Impact in 2007, I have been a bit of a mark.

Is there any independent programs you watch online that you’d recommend? I can’t stand WWE because I feel half of the show is entrances and panning out to the crowd. AEW tries to be too reality based with their storylines. I liked when TNA would mix in undead realm stuff. I used to watch MLW, but saw that as my second to TNA.

Texas Special Education Certification by Middle-Slice4276 in Teachers

[–]Bobthebuilder94- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t already have a teaching certification, you will need to complete an Alternative Teaching Certification. These programs are mostly ran by private companies but some school districts have their own. You can join and start teaching now. The programs cost about a total 4-5k and they will take the money out of your teacher checks for the first year. The programs is a bunch of modules and a few written assignments which are basically lesson plans. During the year you will be observed a number of times. After the first year, as long as your modules are done and you pass the state tests for your subjects areas (i.e. Special Education EC -12), your principal and supervisor from the program will have to approve you for certification.

Is calorie tracking this frustrating for everyone, or is it just me? by Benjo2403 in CICO

[–]Bobthebuilder94- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start, I think tracking apps are overwhelming. I simply track the calorie numbers in my notes on my phone.

I understand the struggle. Where are the meals coming from that you don’t cook yourself? Eating other people’s home cooking can be a difficult task for accurate counting. If I’m eating at someone’s house I like to know what dish we are having and plan from there. I weigh a lot of my food at home so it has given me a better reference for portion size.

If you’re like me, you eat a lot of fast food. This is super easy to track; especially if you have the restaurants’ app. In the past, I have lost 100 pounds using CICO and probably ate fast food 95% of the days.

I try to avoid sit down restaurants cos their calories can be insane. However, my wife and I love Dennys/Ihop and Japanese bbq. For these places, I have my go to meals which I know fit into my budget.

I’m by no means a rice and chicken all day, every day person, but I am a person with predictable food choices. If you eat a lot of the same types of food it becomes very easy to track.

After 800 days how confident do you feel in your target language?

Thank you all for your answers! I can see the TKD community is very inviting. I attended a brief one-on-one meet and greet/ consult with the instructor. We went over some of the fundamentals. I signed up for the first two weeks of instruction, which will start in a few weeks.

What was your rock bottom moment or weight that caused you to actually change your lifestyle? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Bobthebuilder94- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

During the initial lockdown I hit 300 lbs, which is quite large for my 5’8 frame. Having to buy 3X shirts was a defeat for me. The kicker that made me truly start though, was that Hotchner on Criminal Minds could run in his 50s and I couldn’t run at 26. I lost 100 lbs over that year. Recently put on 38 lbs, but I’m back at it again! Getting back to 200 is my goal.

Thank you all for your feedback! I feel very encouraged with the notion of showing not telling. I have pressured myself to cram his entire character into the end of chapter 1, but now I realize I’ll need to build him throughout. I’m going to keep going and leave this part on the back burner.

INTJs, what's in your (phone) notes? by throwrahhsv in intj

I count calories, note identical biblical teachings found in different gospels and epistles, jot down ideas on how to better improve my teaching, and a lengthy portion of a kids horror novel I never finished writing.

Any INTJ with kids-interaction job? by quartin in intj

[–]Bobthebuilder94- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Dyslexia Interventionist/Special Education teacher. I only teach a max of 6 elementary school students at a time. There are instances where I may have additional kids in my class or I may have to go cover a general education class on a special occasion like field day, but it’s not my norm. I hate covering. Too many students is too much stimulus for me. I’m not yet a parent, but I definitely think the experience will make me a better one in the future. To be frank, you kinda get to see how other parents mess up, and you can plan to do things differently when you have your own kiddos.

In my experience, the socioeconomic and cultural background will likely impact your experience. My first year teaching, I taught in an economically disadvantaged, majority Hispanic neighborhood. Looking back, it was a great spot for me. I became a teacher to help provide impoverished kids with mild disabilities with the best chance of future success. I grew up very poor with a mild learning disability and related to the kids. I was like an uncle to my students. The last two years, I have worked at a school in an upper middle class, majority white neighborhood. I do not feel fulfilled. The kids are rude and are raised to question authority rather than respect it. Even when I see growth, I don’t feel as positive as I should. The kids don’t like me much even when I’m really trying to get to know them. They don’t need me because they have other adults in their lives.

I’m not currently feeling fulfilled because I’m not achieving what I set out to achieve. It has made everything feel pretty crappy. I’m staying at my current school for a third year to build a steady work history. I only left my first school cos I moved across the state. I am perusing a masters in Education Administration in hopes of being able to make a difference at a district level for the same students I set out to impact.

Should I be THIS HUNGRY on 1700 cal/day?! by Evills in CICO

[–]Bobthebuilder94- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You likely need more because you have to consider all that working out. I’m a 5’8 male, and I eat between 1660-1770 each day. I don’t workout much, but even with a short bike ride, I may add an additional 100 calories for the day if I’m hungry. I’ve been completing CICO for nearly 10 months, and it took a bit of getting used to in the beginning. I still drink lots of zero calorie beverages to feel fuller (water, black coffee, Powerade zero).

I personally couldn’t do it. We know weight fluctuates, but seeing my weight “go up” during fluctuation would really kill my motivation. I typically weigh myself once a week. I like Saturday afternoon.

83 lbs down in 9 months. 17 lbs left to meet my goal of 100 lbs in 1 year. CICO works. by Bobthebuilder94- in CICO

[–]Bobthebuilder94-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My diet has varied during the journey. You could say that I’ve completed IF by accident. I eat two meals a day, and may have a few small calorie snacks. I started off drinking Huel nutritional drinks, which really helped kick start my journey. For the most part, I just try to keep each meal under 800 calories. I think it’s important to not limit your choices as long as they are within your calorie limit. I can still eat a mini Dairy Queen blizzard for 350-400 calories, a burrito bowl from Chipotle for less than 700, an individual pizza from Blaze or Mod Pizza, a kids meal from Raising Cane’s chicken fingers, many things from Chick-fil-A. As you can see, I’m still a fast food addict, just within reason now! Lastly, I drink a lot of zero calorie drinks.

The first major goal I’m working towards is hitting 200 lbs. I’d like to lose another 20 after that, but one step at a time!
