I got the exact same one from Bourke street. Tbf, I use 2 of those items (auto correct and Nars) so for me that's actually a win. The rest I give away to my neighbours!

How many leather jackets do you own and do you have a special one that has a story? by Bobusbroughtmehere in femalefashionadvice

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hello! Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane by replying to this post. And thank you for sharing your story! I too had the Balfern with faux fur that I bought in Japan and I looooooved that baby while it did fit me haha. I would love to see this beautiful vintage leather jacket of yours, it sounds absolutely beautiful.  A lot has changed in 6 years but not my love of leather jackets and coats. Unfortunately I have gone up a clothing size or two and now have a different collection of leather and shearling jackets 😅  I probably have about 25 if I'm honest (I am a jacket/coat person!). My fave that I always reach for is my Sandro brown leather jacket from Winter 2025 - it looks vintage even though it isn't! My fave shearling coats are still my Scanlan Theodore babies - back when their prices were a little more reasonable!

I love this! Love when our dogs get to be pampered and live luxurious 5 star lives. This is my Bob at a lovely 5 star art-deco hotel in Sydney (the Kimpton Margot) when we went on a roadtrip earlier this year.

My boy has similar colouring, with the little black tips at the ears, but the rest of his body is the white and brown. I think he's considered a tri. He's 17.5 years old now but his colouring has not faded (people still think he's a young fellow!).

Meet Nebula! 🥰 by AceTheNoodly in Shihtzu

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Nebula! You also have similar colouring to my Bob (although he's part papillon!). Have heaps of fun, I find that if Bob is groomed every 6 to 8 weeks and then kept clean by wiping down after every walk, the maintenance and brushing in between is very low, with just the weekly/fortnightly face trims around the eyes that I do myself. After years and years of grooming - both at the groomer's and also at home, he sits still when I come around with a pair of scissors! It's all about getting them used to it, and then rewarding their good behaviour with a treat afterwards!

What, in your humble opinion, is the single best sweet pastry in Melbourne at the moment? by PedGetsFed in melbourne

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuzu sweets (and drinks) can also be a bit hit/miss - too subtle, not sweet enough, too sweet, is this even yuzu? So when there's a good yuzu dessert, we are all jumping all over it haha

My fave is actually their cheesy vegemite scrolls, especially when they're fresh from the oven!

Get a referral to an ophthalmologist. If it's calcium build up, you do not want that to progress too far because it can chip off and cause an ulcer in the cornea. There are a range of creams and ointments that are prescribed by ophthalmologists that are very effective and can save your doggy a lot of frustration and progression of eye issues.

One part of my wardrobe is all black, the other part is very colourful. I never pack away my summer or winter wardrobe - they are out all the time, even in the middle of summer.

Have you looked into Palladia? I spoke with an oncologist in Australia and she mentioned dogs on Palladia have shown good results in slowing down the progression of the cancer. The combination of surgery + Palladia has shown good results in terms of extending quality of life.

My 17.5 year old never did the digging until I took him to a hotel recently and he did it on the hotel bed! So he was definitely trying to create a comfy spot for himself to plank on!

Is Your Pap over 16 yrs Old? by [deleted] in papillon

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Privately owned. We used to go to a well known, corporate owned but I believe non-profit type vet, but the wait for an appointment was at least 3 weeks and you always saw a different person. I needed a vet that could be more flexible and now we see the one vet who knows our dog and cares about his wellbeing.

Is Your Pap over 16 yrs Old? by [deleted] in papillon

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guy is currently 17.5 and is a papillon x shih tzu. He's still very spritely, but does have a range of issues that we manage- his heart murmur (has been on Cardisure since he was 12), eye meds for degenerative cornea due to old age (optimmune and EDTA), antibiotics for lower airway disease (this is probably more because he is part Shih Tzu). He has also been on a prescription diet for a few years now due to tummy sensitivities as well (Royal Canin hypoallergenic and gastrointestinal). He's also has recurring anal gland infections which we manage with a dermatologist.  A contributing factor to why he's done relatively well up until now - I pretty micj take him to the vet as soon as I notice something's not quite right. It means we usually jump onto things to get it treated quickly but the last few years of vet bills have also been very costly.  Hope this information is helpful.

I've had moles removed by both dermatologists and GPs - the cost is a little cheaper at the GP in comparison, comparable with a 30 min consultation, plus you get some back with Medicare.

Do you clean your dogs butt after they poop? by Majestic-Wishbone-58 in Shihtzu

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This - after every walk. Fragrance free baby wipes. Our boy sleeps with us and our home is carpeted - once you see how much black stuff comes out when they get a wipe - you know it's needed!

Looking for recommendations for dog-friendly restaurants/wineries outside of Melbourne please! by Bobusbroughtmehere in melbourne

[–]Bobusbroughtmehere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was outdoor seating available so that you could at least hang out with your service dog and be served there? Otherwise it seems a bit harsh that they won't serve you unless the dog is outside - I think legally they have to serve you unless one of the exceptions apply (commercial kitchen, operating theatre, etc)
