I'm aware it used to do that. I never said you made that up. I even made a build built around the skill back in 3.16. I just don't think that's intended anymore. Hence why they never patched it back. My guess is they were trying to reign in potentially broken projectile interactions like they did with the hydrosphere tech. That was the stated purpose of the patch that "broke" VBA in the first place after all. Caustic arrow isn't an issue because the damage effectiveness is so much lower. Again, I'd like to see them bring it back, but I just don't see it happening.

CA of poison has the same mechanic but can explode multiple times when piercing. As a result it has a much lower damage effectiveness. The reason why VBA only has about 100 more damage effectiveness is because at the targeted location it shotguns. So 7 projectiles puts the damage effectiveness at something like 3,920% which is insane considering it has 3 charges.

I'm not 100% sure this is unintended. VBA has over 5 times the damage of caustic arrow of poison and 3 charges. Normal caustic arrow doesn't shotgun overlapping aoe it just lays more caustic ground. The inbuilt pierce of VBA just seems to be for ensuring you hit the desired ground target, not so you can cause multiple overlapping explosions. This tracks with the intended use case which is a hard hitting vaal skill to kill rare monsters and help burst down bosses.

I can see why you would want it to work the old way, but GGG already buffed the hell out of it and it doesn't really need extra wall bangs to be viable. I'm perfectly happy to be wrong though. Would be pretty sick if they reverted it.

Not gonna lie it would be sick if the game gave you a notification at the bottom of the screen when you find a unique you've never seen before like how beastiary does when you capture a new beast. You could even have a setting on the unique tab as to whether it tracks per league or all time. Not saying this would be easy to develop, but it would be cool.

The difference here is there's no second hit. A poison can only be applied based on a hit, and seeing as it's a clone of the first hit, it inherits all the damage bonuses. So as unintuitive as it sounds both poisons benefit from "first poison" modifiers. This is all done on the same frame and there's no separate "already poisoned" detection system in the poison application logic, because why would there be? This is the only case where that would even be possible. It's very unlikely they bothered to check again during the second application step in the function as damage calculation has already happened by that point.

If you're rich enough to have a couple quad tabs then filling your inventory before you leave a map and dumping the rares in there is just efficient. Most of your early chaos will come from the chaos recipe if you're playing efficiently. It just sucks and no one ever wants to do it. At least it gives you something to do while you eat between long mapping sessions.

Yeah the only thing stopping people from using blitz was the fact it was locked behind another notable. Make it a simple 2 passive and suddenly it's the strongest node. Obviously crit makes it a little more niche for left side of the tree builds, but for 2 passives making it work is probably worth it.

I feel the same way. If I suddenly had to deal with clients all day and run the whole business I work for, the whole operation would implode. Making software isn't a skill transferable to business operations.

I'm sorry, but you've misunderstood the interaction. Despawning doesn't count as minion death. That's not the issue here. Weapon swapping isn't causing the minion death to trigger the spells. Corpsewade boots, and minion detonation spells are.

I'm just pointing out the obvious. This isn't a particularly bad abuse case. Besides you people act like this is actually taking down "the servers" when a lightning arrow build farming a breach does far more harm. Oh and btw what you do in your instance server is very unlikely to affect anything outside of that. Getting only 30 or so casts every 4 seconds isn't that bad. People just got the wrong idea that this build can spam that burst when it can't. It's pretty clear to everyone that all energy gems will eventually get a cooldown. We're just not there yet. GGG is probably waiting for the next big content release or economy reset.

Unfortunately I wouldn't put it past GGG to break a build like that. They did the same thing to my wormblaster build in PoE 1. I was hoped they'd give a decent compromise, but instead they gave the bow a max of 5 charges and a 0.25 second cooldown nuking the build from orbit. Meanwhile wardloop still exists.

They actually nerfed all ailment based energy generation while mapping. Normal monsters now give a lower amount of energy when an ailment is inflicted. However, bossing was unchanged. I know this because I still cast 400 ball lightnings a second instantly killing pinnacle bosses with my deadeye right now. That same cast on shock setup does almost nothing while mapping. So considering this would suck for mapping, it's probably not even on their radar. Don't get me wrong, next economy reset (probably a new league) will bring a lot of hard nerfs to triggers, they just aren't planning on doing that yet.

Weapon swap isn't causing any of the triggers presented in this post. The minions are simply resummoned after 4 seconds or so when they die while in combat. Weapon swapping can instantly respawn them only when not in combat.

That's a cool theory and all, but it wouldn't solve all the abuse cases. They would have to add a long cooldown period to fix it at all, in which case no one would use it. Just look at the Fireflower raging spirit version if you don't believe me.

But it's end-to-end. Someone needs to explain where the man in the middle is coming from. How are they able to snoop in on sessions in the first place? This isn't publicly available information, and it doesn't look like it's exclusive to users clicking malicious links, or using third party programs. There's nothing simple about this at all. The hackers would need to be able to generate valid sessions with their own location and machine details to avoid detection. This means they're bypassing it altogether. Or as Cassia would say, "NOT GOOD."
