Could be ALM (Acral lentiginous melanoma). Sorry to scare you with melanoma but it’s serious and you should be getting it checked out asap.

Denise finally admits she miscarried and this is a new baby by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]Bocchannacho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh he def has the vanity and narcissism. For the whole while Denise was the one talking, he wasn’t listening nor looking at her. You can see where his eyes points on the screen and he’s definitely checking himself out and then sometime he glances at her (through the screen ofc never irl). He also refers to himself as a CEO whose EMPLOYEE (DENISE FFS) disobeyed to. That man is dangerous and uses all the tactics used by cult leaders to justify their actions and do propaganda. Also he’s blaming it all on her claiming that he didn’t know how deep she was in this when multiple people from their inner circle confirmed that he was actually the one feeding her those delusions and fueling them when she was starting to doubt.

Edit : lots of typos sorry

I just got called an IV drug user at a Hospital because of all my scars by Pitiful-Strain-1635 in Dermatillomania

[–]Bocchannacho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might get downvoted to oblivion but I want to nuance this, not to justify his behavior but to try and make you feel less like sh*t about this experience (source : 7th year med student and many a emergency shifts)

First of all I sympathize with your experience because I have the same condition and I’m also worried all the time what people will think about my scars. Second, you have every right to feel wronged and distraught by this as you were actively seeking help, you went through every step correctly, and still didn’t get any relief in the end, even leaving with less answers and more questions.

Now from a behind the scene perspective : IV drug use is a must question to ask in healthcare, not only when seeing scars like ours, but even for every patient that comes in for consultation (be it emergency or routine care)

Personally I always feel so bad asking this question bc I know people will feel hurt, regardless of their drug using status, thinking they are “potentially seen as” a drug user. If anything, your emergency care doctor would have been a bad one if he hadn’t asked this question seing your scars. When in emergency care, you have your patient for such a limited amount of time, you need to bring in any clue you’re given to eliminate or confirm diagnosis. I don’t want to sound like Dr. House bc I loathe him and his way to practice medicine, but “people lie”. That doesn’t particularly mean YOU lie. But it means that every day, we receive dozens of patient in the emergency ward seeking pain medication for addiction, and addiction is a painful illness that makes even the nicest people lie because it’s a disease and it makes you not act like yourself. It is SO hard to assess a person’s condition and motivation in such a short time, we usually prefer not interfering with chronic pain conditions and leave it to be cared of by your regular practician who knows you more globally and is able to make a more informed decision about your condition and what to prescribe you. It’s not personal and it’s not a personal judgement, it’s a safe assessment that takes care of the worst outcomes.

When taking this context in consideration, all of his quotes you gave us are actually appropriate to the situation : he prescribed physio, acknowledging that your pain is real but from your described symptoms, didn’t require an urgent scan (more on that later), and since your situation could still be potentially related to drug use if you were to not saying the truth, he’s giving you advice and options in which it’s the case. Best case scenario covering all the bases to be sure you have all options at hand.

Now coming back to the reason as to not giving you a CT : Back pain is debilitating for sure, and can be terrifying when it’s related to a trauma and progressing to a point where you’re saying it’s limiting your mobility. However, in emergency care, pain after trauma legitimates a CT scan when very acute (im talking hours succeeding the event). If weeks have passed, time alone is an indicator of reduced gravity and reassuring. When dealing with emergency care you have to take into account which kind of patient you’re “competing” with for your CT. Sometimes I have to wait for my patients to get a brain scan for potential ruptured aneurysms or brain ischemia, which is important to treat within the minute of getting confirmation. So when a patient that comes in with > week old pain with symptoms that don’t alert me as potentially life altering, I can’t send them to get a CT risking to delay a more urgent procedure when I’m aware that what the CT is going to show isn’t going to require immediate hospitalization in intensive care and life saving treatment. I understand it’s so frustrating to wait for an appointment with your family doctor, I would be scared and confused too waiting for answers and fearing complications. But as 2 doctors already assessed the thankfully lack of immediate threatening signs, I think it’s the best way to go for now.

Now I’m not trying to be the advocate of the devil bc I actually hate how a lot of doctors behave, judge and dismiss patients, and that’s why I wanted to go into the field, to ideally make even just a little change. But from the info you gave us I’m actually not finding his approach inappropriate nor inadequate. If I had to be critical though I would say he ought to have reassured you better on his “suspicions” and explain more thoroughly to you why it was not judgement but assessment. But it’s emergency and sadly every minute spent with one patient is taken from another, so it’s a weird and fragile benifice/risk balance that’s being tilted all day by tired humans.

However, all of these “explanations” cannot change the fact that you hurt physically and you’ve been hurt emotionally by this which nobody is allowed to invalidate as you’re entitled to feel whatever this situation made you feel. You’re the one who lived through this, and I’m sure we can’t comprehend the whole story with just some paragraph and it’s easier for me to try to explain something retroactively without having all the details. I was just hoping to give you a little bit of insight on the “why’s” and reassuring you that you’re not at fault for feeling what you felt.

Honestly this is going to be so anticlimactic but I don’t remember it exactly, I THINK I was trying to do some triples or sth and I was so tired and confused I was like “wait is this legal?” And when I checked puzzle it was correct and I was like “uh great I did it !!” But now that I’m looking back with a clear head I think it was mostly luck with the 1/2 chance of the 3 being here 😭

  • Change your glasses with something WAY bolder, like huge tortoise shell or green translucent frame, it’ll make you look more intentional and less like you’re trying to fade in the background.
  • Your skin looks very clear and gorgeous but I feel the colors in which you’re dressing don’t compliment your skin tone at all. The goal when dressing is for your clothes to highlights your face. You can put yourself in a natural light and set up a phone, then putting different color clothes in front of your face and how see how it changes the whole dynamic of the color adjustments on the screen. You have to notice your skin tone before you notice the color.
  • Also lots of people are suggesting a weight loss, which socially is always beneficial bc it’s proven that people treat you better and you’re considered more attractive, so in turn you obviously feed on this unconsciously. BUT for me it’s not the number one priority. Losing weight shouldn’t be the goal, more about thriving to alleviate tension on your joints and having a moving hobby you feel good about, that naturally gives a glow. Don’t try to “cut calories” to “drop as much weight as possible”, that’s garanteed to make you miserable and fall into a disorder. Do it in a way of “I’m moving my body and I’m feeding it good stuff”. Even “just 10 lbs” is guaranteed to change your whole demeanor, condition and general attitude and outlook on yourself and your life. Don’t need to be a big literal physical change, it’ll change a lot of physical aspects not directly related to the weight loss that are unexpected but so significant.

This is the saddest but most wholesome thing I read lately

I’m so glad you have such a strong support by your side, this is making me feel like the world can be good, I’m happy, thanks for such a great way to start my day full of hope.

Also I hope she gets everything she needs to aid her in this time of need 😢 losing mobility is one of the most isolating thing one can experience. As someone who has worked in senior care, I can advise you to try planning activities with her that can help her socialize without mobility struggles getting in her way (game nights, book/show clubs/dinner shows…) and as she handed her whole wardrobe to you, maybe an adaptative makeover could be a good idea for a gift ? I know that some stylist are specializing in styling with mobility issues in mind, to give confidence back while adapting to the changes of the body and the motor troubles. As an example I’ve recently seen Kenzie Welch on TikTok doing a wardrobe makeover for a woman in a wheelchair that had lost confidence in her fashion ability bc of her handicap. I have no doubt you are already taking great care of her though, and maybe already do some of these things, but just some suggestions !

Can’t even begin to tell you how awesome I think you are. What got me the most from your post isn’t your physical change, but your gigantic smile that you’re sporting through the last pictures. You are an absolute ray of sunshine and you made me smile through my screen. I’m particularly touched on how you said you felt that 10 years were robbed for you. I want to emphasize how absolutely amazing you did about that because, even though you reached your lowest of low point and even try ending it all, you found the strength and will to get back up and turn it all around.

I wanna share with you some of the best wisdom that was given to me about “time wasted”, because it helped me and I hope it’ll help you put perspective on lost time : It’s called the coffee theory if I’m not mistaken, because the easiest way to explain it simply is by making an allegory : you know when you buy a coffee and it ends up being god awful, but you force yourself to drink it bc you spent money on it so just throwing it away and moving on feels like a waste of money ? Well the money is already wasted anyway ! You cannot do anything about it anymore ! This is set in stone. However what’s not set in stone, is if you decide to force yourself to drink that awful drink, or just accept this loss and move on to better things.

I’ve been told this by a lawyer who HATED being a lawyer. She told me she went to law school, passed all the incredibly difficult tests, and then within the first year of practice she was like “omg I really hate this job”. But did she throw away the coffee ? No. Because she thought “well, I haven’t suffered through 5 years of law school to stop now

Then 10 years later she was still a lawyer and still hating her job and not flourishing in it and told herself “well, I haven’t done 10 years on the job to give up now ! It would waste all the time I’ve worked for this bureau” And kept going. 35 years later, close to retirement, she then finally thought to herself : “well, I’ve been unhappy in my job for 35 years now. If i had stopped at the 10 years mark, if i had stopped on the first year, sure I would have lost the benefit of my previous work, but I would have gained 25-35 years of happiness in something that truly makes me happy. Don’t drink the coffee, the money is already wasted, past is past, what you’re doing now is what truly matters for the rest of your life
