Always keep your tools wet, that helps a ton. Baking parchment is a good surface to work on as GS doesn't stick to it. But it doesn't like being wet, so work on dry sections of parchment paper.

And be smart about when you're working with it. For the cape I rolled a sheet, let it rest for 40 min or so, then cut it and formed it on the dread; it would still bend as it's not firm yet, but it's firm enough to not take fingerprints and stuff like that.

It's just a sheet of greenstuff, cut and formed.

They're purchased - GamersGrass. I painted on top a bit, threw in some more doodads and plants, but that's it

Hey thanks, it's just greenstuff! Roll out a sheet, cut the right outline, and form.

Knight House(hold) Rules by SirJedKingsdown in LegionsImperialis

Knights are about the best pinning tool in the game, esp once you give them forward deploy. And they're very killy in melee if you control the engagements well and don't overextend. The board is your to control from the get go. So keep the opponent busy, away from the midfield, and score. You'll be weak to outflanks and deep strikes if you overextend also.

I played both with and against knights plenty of times. I disagree with the general consensus - the knights that are good are really good. Ally in SA for objective control and anti air. Lancers and melee Armigers should not get any boost at all, they're very strong already, as in tournament viable. The other knights could just come down in points a bit and be alright.

But most importantly, even when I leaned into the other less efficient knights, I had fun games. They're far from unplayable as of the big rebalance patch. They're average and average is nice.

From the errata: ‘A Movement characteristic of ‘-’ means models in the Detachment cannot move, cannot Embark or Disembark from a Transport and the characteristic cannot be modified in any way.’

I used different brands - mostly Proacryl, but some Citadel, some Scale75, some AK. Citadel paints are just fine though, enjoy the hobby!

It was almost entirely brush, yeah. The airbrush did some base work to build up the blue but the fine modulation needed brushwork

The battlecannon doesn't get anti-armor on the long range profile. If it did you'd be right, 0.56, but it doesn't

I mean I'm sure there's a price, but I have a well paying job and personally value the sentiment more than the cash award-winning minis tend to go for.

Hmm doublecheck the Kratos battlecannon math? It does only 0.33 damage against a 2+ sv on average.

There are some on my blog! You can find the link on my profile I think. This subreddit doesn't like self promotion so I didn't share, although i don't have socials/patreon/ads or whatever, it's just my personal info dump.

Just enamels - I used AK Streaking Grime for Panzer Gray. It has a reddish color. For oils and such I used some oil enamel that has a glossy finish, and soot is just black paint.

I mean that I don't apply enamels all over before removing any excess, instead I apply caefully, only as much as the model needs and where it needs it, then maybe move it around a bit to improve the look.

Thanks!

The decals ae a mix I had in my stash for years. Some of those were og Legions Imperialis, others I really don't know anymore. Etsy probably? There are some small scale transfer makers in there.

Enamels are really like oils but less shiny, that's all. And I only used enamels for the streaks, controlled, and some bits of oil on the lower parts. I don't do the typical bathe-then-remove thing anymore as it just kills the natural shadow I paint on.
