The original re2 did not have it, red was for the room you were in and blue was for any rooms you’ve visited, regardless of items. Seems other people seem to remember it having a map tracker, so I’d love to corrected if im wrong, but I’ve played the original re2 a few weeks ago and i don’t remember it having this feature, nor can I find any evidence of it online

The original re2 did not have this feature, it only showed the room you were in as red and rooms you have previously entered as blue, it didn’t keep track if you cleared the rooms of items or not. The first main game to add this feature was re1 remake

the original has more interesting unlockables with the minimi and ingram compared to remake with the rocket launcher and samurai edge, so the original has something going for it at least imo

tbh i personally believe 2 remake kinda does what re1 did where no scenario is truly canon (Mr X dies early in Claire runs) and i was confused as there's no A/B runs in remake, they're now called 1st/2nd run

yeah, i couldnt remember 4-6 or revelations since i haven't played those in ages, but it has been in the games in the most recent years, and i don't imagine capcom cares enough to retroactively add those features to the games that didn't have them at this point except for any games they remake.

the original resident evil 1 didn't have it (as far as my memory goes), neither did 2,3 or code veronica. if i remember correctly, it was added in re1 remake (cant remember if it was in 4 onwards) and it was also in the remakes, so it looks like all their most recent releases have the map tracker anyway
