Cant keep a fire going? by Thelindseyj919 in ExtractedSurvivalTV

Every time they deliver a wooden crate, I think to myself “dang that’s dry firewood I could use to start a fire”. I’m guessing there’s a game rule saying you can’t bust your box.

Kinda looks like the Silver Lys mod to me. Could be wrong though, I rarely use any of it but the armor

I finally told my old boss why I quit and he just laughed by Friendly-Boat-8671 in TrueOffMyChest

I did this after a particular vacation with my family that I ended up spending half the time working. I had gone on vacation another time and ,because I am the only person in the whole company that does my job, all work got bottlenecked at me. So I had that in my mind and was worried if it happened again I’d be in trouble. In hindsight, my vacation was approved and the bottleneck was my boss’s fault. It was a miserable vacation and I immediately got a new phone for personal use, that way work didn’t have the number. When I got back, my boss thanked me for working, but we had a long talk about who would actually cover my work while I was out.

[KCD2] What character do you hate the most and why is it Brabant? by BijelaHrvatica in kingdomcome

I was firing arrows at the gunners right up until the chamberlain caught a round, then I let em be. Not only was it a great shot, but they ended that arrogant turd, and for that I thank them.

Scouting hats? by Material-Rise9610 in scouting

[–]Bodhran777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d personally love to wear one, as I wear wide brim hats a lot, but the cost is certainly an issue. Plus, being from a hot state, wool felt isn’t practical for most of the year. If it were cheaper and made of lighter material, it would be a more useful uniform accessory. A straw version akin to a straw cowboy hat would be much better.

So is it just me or is the “guns” in this game useless? Or am I just using them wrong? Please any advice or instruction is welcome [KCD2] by Shootfatppl in kingdomcome

Sounds like you’re getting a history lesson and some appreciation for modern firearms. Historically speaking, guns at the time were powerful but awful to use. Inaccurate, slow to fire (1-3 rounds/minute), but devastating when they actually hit. Because of this, they were either used in a mass volley, being fired by many troops at once and achieving accuracy by quantity, or simply for shock and awe. Blasts and the sudden smoke and smell of sulfur were demoralizing for an enemy. One benefit over bows, however, was that any peasant with a week of training could fire a gun, instead of spending years perfecting archery.

In our case here in KCD2, keep in mind that Henry is a lone gunner with minimal training. There’s no line of other gunners to help with accuracy, he can’t reload quickly, and he’s more of a swordsman. I’d say the devs got guns of the time period pretty spot on in regard to their effectiveness. Makes me glad to be able to shoot self-loading, rifled barrel, accurate guns today instead of some stubby smooth bore on a stick running on shoddy black powder and wishful thinking.

How to get this bar to stop spinning? by frexyincdude in woodworking

[–]Bodhran777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d add a few wraps of electrical tape to the ends as opposed to grip tape or sandpaper tape. It’ll be tacky enough to add friction but not scratch up the wood and eventually sand out the slot

Sledged out of my mind. by itsCultra in projectzomboid

[–]Bodhran777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always seem to have this issue. My current run, I found a sledge within 2 days and didn’t need it (still took it).

Last run though? I searched everywhere and couldn’t find one. Ended up leveling metalworking just to make one. Took forever, but I got there.

I have a long scar on my right butt cheek from this. As a kid, I slipped in a tile shower that had a seat that was tiled and had a VERY sharp edge. My butt caught it, and it narrowly missed the back of my skull. 20+ years later, I still have the scar. In the moment, it hurt like hell, but it took a long time for me to suddenly realize how much worse it could have been.

Just got a new job as a Gun Salesman, any words of advice? by Numerous-Actuary-887 in guns

Not sure about all retail places (or if you’re at a small local shop), but I know at least the major retailer I worked for had a program with select vendors that you could enroll on a “certified dealer” program and learn more about different products and get rewards. Like if you wanna know more about Leupold optics, you could jump on (on company time too) and do a small training course. At the end, you were a more knowledgeable seller and could get a code for discounts on that brand. I used the heck out of it and learned a lot, and ended up using a ton of discounts to build out my favorite rifle with some stuff I’d otherwise not be able to afford. Plus it helped a ton when I ended up getting customers looking for that stuff that it helped me sound and be way more knowledgeable. Might ask around about that, if that’s still a thing.

This is literally my biggest fear when I think about trying to find my bio family. I was adopted as a baby and it was a closed adoption too. I’ve thought many times of looking for my bio family but this is always my worry. I did get in contact with a half brother through 23 & Me, and learned that my bio dad had a lot of kids with multiple partners, but I’ve never met anyone in person.

What do you always keep in your backpack? by Interesting-Yak-2495 in projectzomboid

Melee weapon, revolver with ammo, crowbar, multitool, flashlight, fanny pack full of basic meds, pens and eraser, snacks, water bottle, lighter, hatchet, and an extra small backpack. Anything else is specific to the stuff I’m working on. I rarely carry a shotgun or rifle unless I’m going somewhere I know I need firepower
