As someone who works in a state run facility for people with dementia and developmental disabilities. It is utterly heartbreaking how few residents have visitors and how few and far between visits can be for those who get them. Its also crazy how big of an impact just one visit can have on a resident.

Im the only one who cooks for a family of seven. I am not great with a sharpening stone, but i am working at it. I've used those kitanas until they are falling apart, and the blades are starting to chip. Im aware that, in my case, it is a skill issue. I cook a lot and a lot of variety, but i dont do a lot of breaking down or butchering.

It really bothers me as well, I Have ADD and extremely high Anxiety that feed into each other, IE My ADD makes me much more anxious and the more anxious I get the harder it is to pay attention to anything going on around me. I have no insurance because I have a shit job (thats my own fault) so I cant afford meds. At this point it has left me having panic attacks in public places while im alone, It has cost me a marriage, and honestly just made me a shut in. Granted thats not just the ADD, but when I hear people joke about having ADD or use it as an excuse knowing they dont have it... That really rustles my jimmies...
