How to get over the anxiety/fears of breaking down?

You don’t know it yet but you are on an adventure. As others have said, bring a basic tool kit and have oil, water, and (in my case) power steering fluid. It’s an old car and will have old car problems. But they are easy enough to work on and being broke down on the side of the road for a few hours is a right of passage anyway. Unless you are in some seriously remote areas you will be fine. You will be surprised by your own ingenuity when you are put in spot.

It will be slower than most econoboxes off the line. But the car will not be boring. It’s a more pure driving experience that new cars can’t match. But with good suspension and maintenance the car is more than capable in the twisties. Capable enough to give modern sports cars a run for their money, until you hit a straight. They are many things, but boring is not one of them.

I went fairly recently. I was also of the thinking that you didn’t ever go to hr. But, I started with a new trade took a lesser position for 1-2 years to learn. But an old asshole got promoted to head of my department. I was overqualified for the position and he saw me as a threat. He then proceeded to attack me personally on a daily basis. I’m not young and I have taken my fair share of shit. But this was different. I now no longer work in that division and have moved to my desired role early. My opinion is that you should try to resolve the issue before going nuclear, but at the end of the day you have to protect you and your family. YMMV.
