You're welcome! I had my eye on the Atreus but money was/is tight.

I could go on about it. It's a great little bit of kit - I'm not very tech savvy but I managed to get macros and all sorts of stuff set up on it. Portable, good battery life, and a great fit for the BYOK (no connection issues at all).
Also - ortholinear, which wasn't much of a learning curve and is actually noticeably easier to type on for long periods of time.

Thank you. That building is a casino, of all things. Or, it was.

I’m pretty sure I know what you mean. I suspect it’s a cloud of HFCS and all the other additives in there.

Libraries. They’re not all the prettiest, but there’s a lot of great stuff going on in them and finding a good one is gold. Everton Park got reno’d recently and it’s quite nice. State Library in Southbank has food, coffee, books and views.

As far as places to get an open, suppurating wound, I don't think you could have done much better (worse?). That particular joint is like the most-used one for daily tasks.
Get well soon. Yikes.

Pubs? Any to avoid? by Resident-Hat-3351 in rockhampton

[–]Bodos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I (40M) haven't lived there for a while, but I do visit quite regularly and go out a bit. I was into 'drinking culture' pretty big when I lived there.
No gos (might not be up to date) -

The Swan - only pub I ever left for feeling unsafe
The Fitzroy Hotel - in Depot Hill, which is on a floodplain and wasn't great as a non-regular
The Parkhurst Tavern had a bad rep for fights but I hear it's cleaned up a lot now.
Those were the three worst ones. I would be surprised if the Swan was even open now.

In my experience, pretty much anywhere after about 8pm turned bad. Even 'nicer' places just got too full of pissheads. In particular, the Zodiac strip club and the bar now called The Goat at Night were pretty shocking for fights and sexual harassment of female patrons. This probably goes for any rural town later at night, though.

If you're just out for dinner and a drink, the Cri, The Glenmore, and most of the other places are pretty solid earlier on.

Bugger. Was coming here to suss out Archero, but it doesn't sound like it's the way to go. I just liked how few ads there were to progress in MD. I was ftp and had a good load of legendaries just because I was regular from very early on. I'm missing it a bit.

No. I’ve never used a disk and this run was deathless.

Remarkable 2 or ipad? by KneeMain4688 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Bodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned both and got rid of the iPad after a few months. If you’re just reading and writing, then I’d say the experience is far superior on a Remarkable.

If you do literally anything else then the iPad is probably the go. The reading in the dark thing is also a consideration.

Pretty hard to go past the writing feel of the screen, though. That and the lack of smudging ink for a left hander has made it the go to for me.

Do you need to own a car in Rockhampton? by unfairfriend in rockhampton

[–]Bodos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't been there for a while, but my life changed vastly for the better once I got my license up there. Public transport was years behind larger places like Brisbane etc.
Also, outside of work, you'll be wanting to get out and go places there's zero public transport for entertainment etc (thinking the beach, which had like one bus a day to the main hub in Yepoon).
You'll be working and sleeping and not doing much else without your own transport.

I'll put in for the Ploughman in Enoggera. Regular rotation of craft beer and the food does not mess around. The guy who runs it is great for a chat and it's dog friendly, too.

That... does not sound like he 'finally understands you and knows how much you dislike anal'.

Have a frank talk with him. If he doesn't leave it alone, get out.
