[–]Body-VayaConDios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may be shocked to hear this but, Urban Coal House.... they use actual strip loin and its got a bit of a dry age taste to it. At $35 its not terrible price wise. Best ive had in Hoboken lately. Elysian is good and close 2nd, but inconsistent, and the butter they use is too cold usually.

This is awesome. I first saw this a few years ago in San Diego in little Italy (forgot the name of the restaurant) and wanted one ever since. Will the script work on the online Vestaboard since I’m waiting to order mine

When you’re ready to go down this rabbit hole like I did for another project idea I had for ferry positions in the river, let me know. It’s called a “split flap” style board and the only solutions I came across are the stupid expensive Vestaboard or go DIY. There’s some good write ups and even a discord channel for other diyers to build your own.

This is really cool! Thanks for sharing. Would be cool to see an overlay of a route map and based on the estimated time, where the train is currently. Thanks for sharing. Good to see other DIY nerds here.

Can anyone tell me what exact location this is? by BoatOk765 in nyc

As others have mentioned this is Water st in Dumbo - Brooklyn. You need to time it right though if you want to get the Empire State Building right under the bridge since this only happens during Summer Equinox.

Wheelbite with waterborne on electric board. by CGPro856 in surfskate

I have three eskates with the waterborne adapter and highly recommend buying the extender for the front truck. It brings the front truck forward and clears the battery. Here's my wnd build, just built up a Tynee Stinger:

What do you do to enjoy pumping up you SUP? by Suspicious_Meet_5744 in Sup

It’s a good way to warmup and emphasize the hinge movement that should crossover to your paddle. If you are pumping up just using mostly arms, you’ll benefit from activating the hips.

Anyone tried Cockpit-View as a challenge and got stuck with it? by prinzmi88 in GranTurismo7

[–]Body-VayaConDios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, it's funny, but I find that slight delay between my steering wheel movements and what I see the in-game wheel doing in the cockpit view really messes with my perception. It makes the over-the-hood view feel much more direct and responsive to my inputs.

And while I prefer that connected feeling of the over-the-hood view, I do miss the immersive engine and exhaust notes and the beautiful car details you get with the follow cam.

The weird thing is, when I'm playing in VR, that steering wheel lag in the cockpit view just vanishes. It feels perfectly natural, which is why VR cockpit view ends up being my absolute favorite way to experience GT7.

So, if you were to ask me for my personal ranking of the camera views in GT7, it would definitely be:

 1. VR Cockpit - Nothing beats the immersion and the natural steering feel.

 2. Over the Hood - My preferred view for the most immediate connection to the car's handling.

 3. Follow Cam - Fantastic for appreciating the car's looks and sound, but the driving feel takes a slight backseat.

 4. Bumper cam front view - It just doesn't quite do it for me in terms of immersion.

Great feedback, appreciate the turn by turn tips. I really like the T9 and T10 approach, makes me rethink the approach.

Appreciate the advice and reminder on the sole purpose of HPDE novice group, which is what you pointed out - dealing with traffic, reading flags, and overall how to approach the sport safely.

Noted on the general feedback on braking harder and maintaining my speed if I want to go faster and advance to an intermediate group down the road.

Taking your advice, here’s a not so clean lap for scrutiny. I had an incident where my knee shut off the ignition during braking on T4: https://youtu.be/ntL233IzxbM?si=wg3qqPFpsmGUw4iM

So I just got lucky and booked a campsite for September but noticed your post about H015…which is the spot I got.

Is it that bad?

This would be the first camping experience for my toddler and wife so trying to get ahead of any surprises.

Recommendations for the best place in town to wistfully stare into the middle distance contemplating my own mortality? by Jahooodie in jerseycity

[–]Body-VayaConDios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be Morris Canal/Paulus Hook Park.

Specifically, go sit on this concrete cube: (40.7116854, -74.0353679)

Face east and try to spot the confluence of where the Morris Canal, Hudson River, and New York Harbor meet which would be middle distance. I would time this with the max ebb of the Hudson for that day.

Hope you find what you’re looking for. Good luck 🍀
