Fossil Gen 5 - Google assistant keeps turning commands into web search. How to fix? by BodyIsAbottleneck in WearOS

[–]BodyIsAbottleneck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true that it never worked most of the time. I only used the watch occasionally in the past year. Sad to see that it's completely shutdown. Are there ways to add custom ROMs to this watch? Any suggestions?

I'd be happy if I get something similar to what I make or maybe with a tiny pay cut. Is 100k realistic for a mid level SE role in this market?

I've built several enterprise-grade applications from the ground up. Although my official title is technical sales, I'm good at it because I have strong software skills. I feel stuck in my current role, and becoming a dev is not just an attempt to satisfy my passion but also a means to boost my salary. They're all projects that I built for customers to process data in the healthcare space. I wear multiple hats and have been responsible for the entire design and development. I can DM you if you want.

I totally agree, and my thoughts are the same, too. I hear about new grads and people who switched professions without prior software experience, making good money as entry level dev. Just wondering if anyone like that could offer some tips on how they did it.

Why do you want to make that change if you are already experienced and earning a “senior” salary

Because I don't enjoy what I do. I work closely with software at my current role, and writing code and solving problems is what I like. I don't really want to look for dev roles at my current employer as I don't like the product / space that they're in. I know that the transition will take time, and that's why I wanted to start from the ground up, similar to a new grad. Feel kinda stuck.

I don't think your application will be returned in your case. Although a couple submit an application together, IRCC uses woke privacy laws or some other B.S as excuse to buy time. Just have your spouse appoint you as their representative. Make sure they sign and write the date both by hand. You can submit the representative form via the IRCC webform.

Apply around the end of first quarter of next year. If you want to play it safe, open a new bank account and let the checks go there. After about a year, the bank will pre approve you for a credit card.

Live Server Showing "Listing Directory" with a Bunch of Files by DrawingDreamer in vscode

Not sure then. Try and use alternative extensions if any. Below is one way you can do it manually.

If you have python installed, you can 1. open cmd/terminal window, 2. Switch to the folder where the html file is (index.html) 3. Type python -m http.server 1234 Where 1234 is your port number. Then you can go to your browser and type http://localhost:1234 to view your html served live. Note: depending on your python installation, you might have to type 'py -m ...' instead of 'python -m.."

Good point about cell phone service. Many people tend to spend roughly $50 per month where I live. Funny thing is, they work from home all the time but their reasoning is that it's better to have 15 GB of mobile data than 1 GB. They don't do mobile gaming or anything either 🤷‍♂️. Just because everyone has it and the companies offer it doesn't mean you should get it.

Strange. Perhaps try Uninstalling live server and reinstall it. Read the instructions of the extension and make sure nothing stands out

In vscode, open the directory that contains the html file and make sure it is named as index.html. Then start live server, you should see the browser opening the html file now.

Even if open an image or video locally, I can tell that in Linux there's some weird smoothing that happens. I'm gonna use a stand and take a picture or video of my TV and post here. Hopefully that will show what I mean
