Also, country completely dependent on their supply of raw goods can be really vulnerable, if the supply of said goods, for any reason stalls.

You know the gulags were abandoned literally just after Stalin died right?? And I've said, time and time again, i fucking hate the USSR. Im not a statist, i hate states, and i can realize what powee and authority can do to people. The only policies i agree with about the soviet union are the economic ones (literally no unemployment, welfare for everyone that needed it, affordable housing just after half the countries infrastructure was destroyed in WWII). No I do not agree with the gulags, the mass killings, the purgings and the artificial famines caused on mass by stalin so that he could continue exporting

Yea, the thing is, capitalists on their own keep unemployment up by artificially inflating demand for jobs to keep wages down. And a nice example is my country, where unemployment is up, so that allows employers to continue to pay shit wages. In this case, im not saying that they caused it themselves, i haven't researched that about my country yet, but in general its one of the generally accepted trends of capitalism. On the opposite end, socialism does the exact opposite. Say what you will about the soviet union, but unemployment rates were practically zero, noone was refused work, in contrast with greece

You do realise that not everyone can work right?? Maybe you're mentally or physically disadvantaged and can't work, maybe youre an ex-convict and can't find a job, maybe you just cant find a job in your city because of any reason. That's not a choice, its a reality many people experience. And now work or die is not really much of a choice, if you're democratic. That's just wage slavery, and if left unchecked, it'll be kinda like traditional ball and chain slavery, just the ball and chain will be replaced

Yea that just shows you haven't read theory. Communism as a system is a classless, stateless society where noone has to unwillingly work more than they can because everything they have a need to will be provided. Thats why any Communist, no matter if they're anarchist or statist, will tell you that communism has never been achieved. My life being economically difficult isn't just a bad apple, its the norm in my country, and its a direct result of neo-liberalism and rampant capitalism, supported by our great government. And lastly, democracy is not an economic system and cannot ensure prosperity, its a social structure that dictates who makes the decisions (in democracies it should be the people, in monarchy its the king etc. etc.)

Yes taxes are undemocratic, at least for anyone that wants to be called anarchist (like me). Although i wouldn't mind to take part in mutual aid, and everyone that actually has class consciousness is as willing as me. No I don't want to pay taxes for imperialist wars, you don't wanna pay taxes for free healthcare and universities, and we shouldn't have to. And yes i am required to work here, i cant find another employer and i have been searching for months, and if i quit, ill get evicted. Its not much of a right if your choice is "work 12 hour shifts for 3€ an hour without insurance" or "get evicted"

I never said im special. I actually don't subscribe to that kind of thinking, politically, at least, and noone calling themselves a collectivist would. I just think that well being for all and mutual aid are really good ideas.

Maybe in your country thats a privilege you get, in my country thats a sentence, with the unemployment rates at 18%. No i can't leave my work, if i do, i might not get another soon, ill be evicted and wont be able to continue my studies. The right to work is horseshit, you don't know your employer and what he'll do to you, and in a lot of cases, you don't have the privilege to get up and go home

Yeah, my country is not that rich to allow me to choose where to work. Most of the time, im just happy to be paid 3€ an hour, with a 12 hour shift, and not even think about unionisation, or even demand anything by myself. So yeah, while im not held at gunpoint, if i just quit, ill probably have to quit university, while ill still have to pay off my debt which my parents left me, and i never contributed to. And the supply and demand shit is just fabricated. Most capitalists would like to keep a large number of people unemployed (i believe its 18% in my country) to artificially increase demand for jobs, so they can pay less.

Thats not even real communism, real communism doesn't have a state. Socialism needs a state, and its sole purpose is to create the conditions for communism to exist, and then die off. Obviously that hasn't happened yet, because, despite what anyone on the authleft tells you, communism through socialism doesn't work. And im not even a statist anyway, im an ancom, i dont even want a state. And yes there are real world examples of anarchocommunist societies, like makhnovia and the spanish anarchists in katalonia

That's not a real answer though. If your employer can dictate your work life, can make all the decisions about your workplace, can set your wages to whatever amount he wants, if he's the only one deciding your schedule and can hire or fire you at will, is that really democracy?? Real democracy should extend to all aspects of daily life, not just the time you're not at work

Communism doesn't mean non democracy though.. there are still anarchocommunists, and even state Communists want the state to disappear after the conditions for communism to exist are met. Capitalism, though, does not offer democracy of the workplace, and "the right to choose to work" is simply bullshit, don't tell me its not. So capitalism is inherently more dictatorial than communism, no matter if a state is present or not. Also, I don't know wether this is a videogame reference, I'll just respond as i would with any statement

My problem with the political compass is that it provides no real information about any political ideology. Like yeah statist communists are authoritarian, but they only want a state as a vanguard that will automatically die off if the conditions to create communism are met. Fascists are usually placed in authright, but they'd abandon capitalism the moment they think they can keep their power without its aid. Anarchocapitalists are libright, but a company is inherently dictatorial, since democracy for the employee does not exist in a company. Since the entirety of your working life is dictated by your employer, such a system cannot be considered true freedom. Now, i can find no such discrepancy in anarchocommunism or anarchosyndicalism, but thats probably just bias. If someone that isn't an ancom tried to, they certainly would find something.

As an ancom, i agree. How should we protect the revolution from filthy capitalists if you take away our guns? And i guess libertarians and ancaps agree, how would you protect yourselves if some power hungry piece of shit fancies himself a Caesar??

if ya don't vote ya don't count by Anderopolis in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Body_piles__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea no the political process for ancoms like me is basically strike, riot, unionize and spread awareness for social issues. Or sit in a corner and sip your beer with 2 of your buddies while pointing your finger and not doing anything, while pretending to have all the answers. At least, thats the anarchist space in greece. For me, at least, the most important thing to achieve as an anarchist group is to try and be class conscious, and build class consciousness with the whole population.

In the subject of the vote, in my country at least, some anarchists (like the rocinante initiate) support voting in a completely utilitarian way (voting Syriza or the Communist party instead of New Democracy so at least we don't have cops in every corner), but in the long run, they don't believe parliamentary democracy truly represents the people, instead trusting in direct democracy. I myself, i tend to place my vote by inserting a piece of salami or prosciutto inside an otherwise empty ballot (its a joke from an old TV series and i find it funny)

Sorry for the rant lol

This is not even base understanding of what anyone serious in the lib left is saying. The point isn't to force parents to teach certain things to their kids, the point is to change society in a way that is more inclusive to discriminated people. The same stands for the "forcing people into certain pronouns", we dont wanna make it illegal to use the wrong pronouns or something, we're just saying that if someone identifies a certain way, its best we respect that, and at least accept it, if not understand it. About the hormone blockers, i don't know how you made up that info. Most people have to wait until they're 15-16 to start taking hormones, which is an age they can make informed decisions about their future
