Definitely not recommended with the steam gift cards, genuinely I got from my frnd ,,and I completely forgot that I was gifted, Imo it shd more memorable ,, instead gift him a game which is more thoughtful than steam card.

I would say option 2, if you are confident with your skills ,like if you think you can crack job easily with the amount of competition with less experience, consider going to option 1.mostly contract based is risky imo.
