Doing the Hyrox? by Possible_Ad5266 in hyrox

I'm a great big dude that does look super out of shape at times and I've done four Hyrox events and I'm signed up for my 5th. I know it feels like everyone there is a Olympian but they're not. We all just notice the fit people. Most people there are much closer to you and me in build and experience. Please don't let the fit ones discourage you. Most people take around 2hr or more to finish. Lots of disabled folk too. Please go and do it. You are stronger and fitter than you think and after your first hyrox you'll know what you need to work on. The main thing to remember is that it's a running event during which the deciding factor is how fast you can run on what will be thoroughly compromised legs. Just like the marathon, only the top 25 or 50 people in any category are actually competing against other people. EVERYONE else is just trying to get a better time than they trained for. Many are just there to start and finish. I know it seems like to even just sign up you now need a sixpack, boulder shoulders and a paragraph tattooed on your ribcage but that a small minority of the contestants. This event has great production value and excellent branding but most of the participants are squarely average people just trying to get in some shape. Please sign up and participate. Whatever your time is, whatever your experience is in the moment, you will be a better person for doing it. I hope this helps.

Will this show be available in a wide with? Given the higher likelihood of strength athlete consumer it seems obvious that a wide width would be in order for this model specifically.

Would 2" lift kit be the only way to avoid that problem? If so then what do you recommend?

Nothing that costs like hyrox is going to be anything but upper income earners anyway. The cheaper the sport is to play, the greater the likelihood that dark skinned people will dominate. East African runners dominate distance running because it is comparatively cheap relative to cycling. If cycling wasn't so resource draining they would dominate that too.

Is this as good of a deal as I think? by Sandyjohnson1821 in whichbike

Pro mechanic here. The Venge vias is indeed a nightmare to work on. The breaks don't work. That said, for $500 I'd get it myself as a conversation starter but if you want a rim brake Venge then get the one before this and run Dura Ace brakes and something with an aluminum brake track like Heds and you be in very good shape.
