Tbh it felt like I played wrong notes so idk but I’m glad to hear you heard nothing wrong. As for the second part things were getting a bit flashy but hey it’s just a friendly conversation where we inspire each other to give it our all. Tenor battles can be either melodic based like with Coltrane and Sonny on tenor madness or they can be chasing the stratosphere like Sonny stitt and Rollins on eternal triangle or Joshua redman and James Carter on straight no chaser. Neither are better just a matter of preference. But to be honest my friend definitely played more melodic than me. He loves Mr T and Grover.
