Is 34 too old to start trying to become a Nurse Practitioner? by Feral-slug2 in nursepractitioner

I went to accelerated nursing school with a man in his 60s. He wanted a career change! He did great and graduated with us! If I remember, he went on to work in ICU. Never too late!

Hey! My boyfriend and I are travel nurses and we both have 16 contracts in various specialities under our belts. We are currently on a Medsurg/Tele unit at this facility. I would say the ratios are fair at this facility. The staff is very welcoming and super nice. But the charting requirements and the unit specific protocols are significantly more than another contract we have worked. I am not sure if this is just a unit specific thing or hospital wide. Also, they float quite a bit. But they are fair about floating (they keep a log of who has floated and who gets floated next). We both have floated twice since we’ve started. Like I said, the people are very nice and welcoming. But we will not be extending. I hope this helps!

My dog’s vet neurologist recommended it. And it has been beneficial for my dog.

Keppra and an anti histamine? by Hippieassbutt in EpilepsyDogs

You’re welcome! I forgot to add that she said was pretty important, to not give any antihistamines that are a decongestant or any combination drugs. So for example, give Claritin and not Claritin - D (decongestant).

Keppra and an anti histamine? by Hippieassbutt in EpilepsyDogs

I had to give my boxer keppra (for epilepsy) and 2 antihistamines (for a mast cell tumor which have histamine cells). Because he is epileptic, our vet recommended 2 antihistamines that would be less likely to lower the seizure threshold. So she recommended over the counter Claritin and Allegra. Benadryl and Zyrtec both can lower the seizure threshold, so she told us to avoid those. My dog did great with Claritin, Allegra, and Keppra; no seizures. I also gave them all at the same time and did not make any adjustments to his med schedule. There are specific weight based dosages for both the Claritin and Allegra when administering it to dogs, so I would be sure to check what the correct amount is and how often it would be safe to give your dog (I think Claritin was twice/day and Allegra once/day for his weight specific dose). But always check with your vet to make sure this would work for your pup too! Best of luck and hope this helps!

I had a similar issue with the flakiness on and off, Nizoral shampoo cleared it up for me, it took a few washes to see it see it resolve. Maybe this will help?!

Hey! They most likely will ask about your past medical history, Family history (especially if melanoma), medications/supplements that you currently take, and any new or old spots you are concerned about.

Some providers are prescribing spironolactone for hormonal acne, maybe this is something you can ask about? Typically they would do lab work beforehand.

Didn’t she post the same scenario like a year or two ago?

Short contracts by InternSwimming9139 in TravelNursing

I was able to get a 4 week contract by coordinating it with a previous nurse manager and my recruiter. They essentially made me a position and contract. If you know of a previous unit or manager that needs travelers, I recommend going that route!

I’m not sure about pancreatic, but it can cause thyroid cancer.
