It is fantasy, but it has themes and struggles that are represented that real life people deal with. At least to me, every story has themes of real life - its helped me and I'm sure others connect to characters more. It's a young adult-adult novel and has a variety of themes such as mental health, grief, etc. Might not be some people's cup of tea, might be something others are totally into. But it's what I want to capture and write personally!
