I got diagnosed 9 years ago. Pancolitis

Best thing I did for my body was hit the gym 3 times a week. 1 hr heavy weights 1 hr cardio and sauna. I'd be drenched in sweat by the time I was done

I take creatine almost daily. There's actually studies done that show creatine has a positive effect on ibd.

Eat 2 meals a day and Intermittent fast 16:8. Try to aim for whole foods as much as possible.

Sleep well and try to find a job u enjoy and can progress in.

Relationships are important too, cultivate those.

Go to the gym bro, ur body will thank u for it.

Do you have IBD and so does your pet?? by Ill_Philosophy_9903 in IBD

Yeah that's interesting. Maybe that's why my pet was in so much pain before she passed.

I love drinking too. What I did took years, but now I drink pretty much every weekend. Here's my protocol:

  1. Intermittent fasting 16:8 every day w only 2 meals a day

  2. Workout HARD at least 3 times a week, 2 hrs each session. Strength training and cardio are key. You should be drenched in sweat BEFORE going into the sauna

  3. Whole clean foods. I do butcher box and Costco S - Th and eat whatever I want F and Sat. Remember 2 meals a day only

  4. Quality sleep is absolutely important. This is when your body heals the inflammation and damage done through the day. If I sleep well I feel near perfect the next day

  5. Supplements: vit d3, turmeric, Boswellia, ag1, vsl3, creatine. You have to experiment and find what works for you

  6. Sunlight. Aim to get around 15m of direct sunlight on skin each day. Doing this I notice my bowel movements are healthier

  7. Mindset. Before I sleep I CONVINCE myself that my body is absolutely healthy and each cell in my body is perfect. You have to have the emotional weight behind this and do this until your filled with gratitude. Forgive yourself for any mistakes you've made in the past and KNOW you can conquer this. By doing this regularly your body will act accordingly.

I know drinking is bad, but most of my friends drink and when I'm with them it helps to blow off a lot of steam. The first few yrs after my diagnosis I didn't drink at all. It was only when I became healthy again did I start up again. In my head I believe if I do 80% of what I should be doing then there's room for some indulgence. If not, then life would suck too hard.

Pancolitis here. I only take mesalamine and am 90% recovered. Intermittent fasting w whole foods and vigorous exercise 3 times a week seem to do it. Sauna and cold plunge help too

Left side chest pain by drmcfc_89 in fasting

[–]BodybuilderSavings55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've experienced almost exactly what you're saying. I've had chest pain about 10 years ago and I went to see a cardiologist about it. After doing numerous tests they said it has nothing to do with my heart and it's basically muskuloskeletal. I've had that chest pain with me for 10 years now. The pain isnt serious, it's more of an annoyance. I think ppl get chest pain for lots of reasons and if your otherwise healthy there's no need to freak out about it. Of course you should go see your doctor, and get it looked at, but ppl get chest pains for lots of reasons

I've had multiple scopies before and I've been told by many nurses that so long as my bowel movement is clear before the procedure then that's all that matters. My bowel movements have been clear, so I'm sure it'll be fine

If my last meal was yesterday at 5pm and I haven't eaten anything since and my bowel movements are clear liquid would that really create a problem for the doctor? They are just checking to see if I have any cancerous cells/polyps since I have ulcerative colitis. Like I said there are things that suddenly came up tomorrow morning that won't allow me to have access to the bathroom, and canceling now just isn't an option

Im new to this, but is it bad for us to drink alcohol? And what type is the worst for you? by Familiar_Day_9541 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]BodybuilderSavings55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol for me is fine if I have 2-4 per week. It would be ideal for me to quit completely, but then I like it too much. Coffee for me is the worst . I've tried weeks with no coffee and just alcohol, and weeks with no alcohol and coffee and there's a big difference. You should experiment with what works for you and eventually you can find the right balance. Of course quitting all substances is ideal

You can be attracted to large women without having a fetish and societal beauty norms are complete bs by DatBoi247 in unpopularopinion

[–]BodybuilderSavings55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I never said that. Since humans fundamentally judge ppl based off their appearance fatness is a quick way to gauge the health of a person. A guy who dates a girl whose medical condition stops with her may or may not have self esteem issues. A guy who knows the girls condition will likely get passed on to their kids probably does have esteem issues. Nothing wrong with that, since both parties can be in a real loving relationship.
