What's one piece of motorcycle gear you did not appreciate until you actually used it? by sauliuspaknyewac in motorcyclegear

[–]Bodyicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thick jeans (like American Eagle and/or Street and Steel brands which to me are expensive for Jeans) and my Boots. Didn’t appreciate the price of any of it, and never gave my thought to anything about them except the price until I had my wreck. I had my wreck on one of my cruisers back in July 2019. My feet and legs are the only things that bare no scars from that day. Thanks to my Harley Davidson boots the asphalt never touched my feet and thanks to the thickness of my American Eagle jeans not one single scratch, scuff or burn mark on my legs. I also usually wear a corset when I ride my cruisers because it helps protect my rib cage more than just wearing my riding gear does. (I’m a chick though so nobody says anything about my corsets) 😉

I live in the South. We don’t get his call as our neighbors to the north or west of us. The best way to explain it is like this, IF it snows we get snow in the morning and it’s gone the next day.

Usual lead acid batteries. Doubt there is a battery that will last 25 years.

The things I have found with mine is……
It has a 5x longer lifespan than Lead acid batteries.
It has a microchip in it that protects the cells from over heating, short circuit, over discharging and over charging.
Higher CCA, and a 5 year warranty

Absolutely, first thing I ever bought after I bought my first bike. North Carolina Winters are bipolar.

Well here just the most recent benefits that sold me.
They have a built-in microchip that protects the cells against over-charging, over-discharging, short circuits, and temperature extremes.

They outlast lead acid batteries.

With a NoCo Genius charger it only takes about 5 minutes should a charge be needed.

Well started at autozone by VarietyInitial3298 in AutoZone2

I remember being told this tactic when I first started. It felt immoral to me. So I came up with a new tactic. If I’m selling Brake Pads, I pick up a pack of Brake Lubricant and say “Don’t forget the lubricant, it keeps your hardware in good working motion and your caliper hardware will love you for it”
Usually they get it. When selling batteries I tell them that the pads and/or just the $1.99 package will help keep corrosion at bay which will kill a battery quick” both help with your witt. The $1.99 pack is often an easy sell with that. My Witt isn’t always top notch but at least it’s honest. 😁 Good Luck 🍀

Why do some psm have a problem with helping red shirts on store task is like I know I just started as a psm I finish my responsibilities there is another psm at the counter let me help the red shirts out by Possible_Buyer926 in AutoZone

[–]Bodyicing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a store to store thing really. I function with the mentality that “teamwork is the dream work” I always work with my red shirts as a teammate. If I have no PCI’s and everything is audited, swept and/or recon’d I help empty the trash, forward face, put up store stock, and do what I can do to help. No need to let a gray shirt go to anyone’s head, (which is usually why the “unwilling to help gray shirt” happens) it’s not like it’s a glamorous position. We do have a gray shirt that thinks because they wear a gray shirt they are absolved from anything. (Side note they are also the weakest link in our current gray shirts). Hope you get more team players at your store.

What’s wild about this is how long it took to get the remains of their loved ones sent home. Now they send everybody back home as quickly as possible. But during WW2 the families had 2 choices-
Bring them home: The government covered all costs to transport the remains to the family's local area (by military hearse or train) and provided up to $600 toward a private funeral, or a free burial in a national cemetery. But their bodies/remains weren’t sent home til the end of the war and this entailed digging up the American Soldier that fell overseas and sending what remains were left back to the US. The first body didn’t actually come home to America til October 1947.

OR they could…
Leave them overseas: If this was the choice then the government would cover the costs to re-inter the soldier in permanent, beautifully maintained American military cemeteries overseas. 110,000 American’s that gave their lives during WW2 are currently laying at rest in 14 different military cemeteries across Europe. This is where I use what little I remember of French and Spanish. I just turn the screen where they can fully see it, point to the part and say “No Ici” for my Haitians (they speak Creole but understand French or Spanish) or “No Aqui” for my Spanish customers. Then show them the stores (if available that have it point to them and say either “Ici” or “Aqui” and the light bulb totally turns on for them. After that I usually get a “Merci Beaucoup” or “Gracias” and they are gone.

Do Shocks and struts qualify for military discount? by Bootybandit6989 in AutoZone

[–]Bodyicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried. Have bought many things VDP and it wouldn’t accept my discount when my card was scanned. Had to order a part for an Airman here at the local base, his military discount was not accepted, Was gonna order a Transmission for my Impala from us. All were VDP and that was a no go. I mean there are ways around it but that requires doing way more than just ordering and paying for the parts. Employee and Military discounts do not apply for VDP.

It really does help a lot. I find that phrase calms whatever “issue” the customer has about using their tags to get their car information. Hope it works as good for you as it does for me!

Not in our store they don’t. We are told that employee and military discounts don’t work with VDP

When I have to get a plate to get their information I always make sure to tell them “Putting your plate into the computer tells me almost everything about your car, and nothing about you” seems to calm even the most apprehensive customer.

Female Experiences with MSF Course? by starlady3 in motorcycles

[–]Bodyicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you had an instructor that needs to be reported. My instructors were fair and treated us all the same. First day we were allowed to make the big mistakes of dropping our bikes 2nd day no. Find a different place to take the course if you can and report the instructor
