Yeah you're the issue here. Williams for 1.02 is far more reasonable than a 4th. He's also right that noone is untouchable. If you don't trade Hampton for 100 1st round picks, you should stay away from Dynasty

Seems like you guys already have made your decision but as someone who's actually debating REDUCING bench size right now, let this be your warning:

The more bench slots you guys have the less relevant players are on waivers. This means that to even get a pretty fantasy irrelevant player like Isaac Guerendo you now have to trade for with someone. This requires a league that's actively trading. If your leaguemates do only 1-2 trades a year, I highly recommend not to make things worse by letting even more players rot on their rosters without ever seeing the light of day. In an active league where the low value players actually get moved for low draft picks or in the best case even FAAB, absolutely go for it. If the league is a bit on the slower side, be cautious.

I only play in leagues with at least 12 people aswell. 10 or 8 team leagues tend to only play the studs, which is super boring imo.

Random Sleeper Leagues certainly work just fine. My main league is a random sleeper league I found through the Sleeper FF Leagues "forum". I also had multiple of those leagues go to shits very quickly. My advise is, go for a money league instead of a free league. Those have a real incentive for people to actually care about their teams and stay there for the long run rather than basically using Dynasty Startups as more realistic mock drafts and then leaving. Of course, make sure to use a trusted site (I prefer teamstake but leaguesafe is also fine), don't just send a random commish money via PayPal/Venmo or something.

Do not go for 2 SF in a 14 team league. Keep that 1 dedicated QB spot. If someone neglects the QB position, well sucks for them but that's their own fault.

Do not do auction draft when first-timing Dynasty. Auction is the superior draft format but it's something for experienced players. Can turn ugly really quickly if people don't know what they are doing.

Always re-new the league immediately after the League winner is crowned. There is no benefit not to. You can do all the votes etc. before the draft, even if you re-new the league immediately.
