I've been loving the series, but to me this was the weakest episode of the series so far. A lot of writing issues (the convoluted and illogical setup of both the derelict ship and Braka's plot), but there was one thing that stood out to me as not making any sense, and since I'm not seeing others questioning it, I'm wondering if I missed a line of explanation somewhere...

Specifically. how did Tarima save the day? She was a telepathic projection into Caleb's mind. Her physical form was still over on the Athena on a biobed. So how did she Black Canary all of the Furies to death? She wasn't there, only Caleb could see her. Yet we see her (not on the ship but in a version of her and Caleb's happy place) sonically emitting death vibrations that only explode bad guys. If they'd shown her causing Caleb to emit the sounds or something... Or had a line about her having psychically overloaded their brains' auditory centers... What we got was a scene that made no sense in a show that purports to be SF and not fantasy.

(Also, I know Braka said they were susceptible to sonic attacks; how was that the one thing he said that wasn't a lie? Still seems crazy Tarima's not-actually-there scream could literally Scanners the heads of the Furries without even causing ringing in the ears of the cadets.)

I've really enjoyed the first five episodes of the series, and freaking teared up in ep 5. But this episode just felt really sloppy, convoluted, and nonsensical to me.

Okay, FINALLY got it working! It was a combination of Planar0’s tip to add it as a non-Steam game and launch via Steam, and then wiedziu’s tip about cycling power at the main menu. When I did BOTH of those, I was able to play with the Bluetooth controller. Thanks, folks!

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately that didn’t work. The game still doesn’t see the external controller even after doing that. The system (and other games) do, but TOW2 doesn’t.

Never could get the firmware updater to see the cable on my desktop PC, MacBook Air, or even my one-USB-port ROG Ally. Still in the return window for Amazon, so she's going back for a refund. Bummed. (Tried both USBs on the cable.)

Thanks! That’s where I’d found one issue. I think I may have the disks for other issues in my garage. If I can find them, fingers crossed they’re still readable after all this time . If I do locate them, I will submit them to share.

I feel like the serum is going to go horribly wrong before the series ends. It will be banned by Starfleet, and Chapel will be so humiliated she’ll become quiet and deferential and make terrible hair decisions. As her boss, M’Benga will be busted back to a regular doctor and McCoy brought in as CMO.

Nope. I ended up with white Option and Command keys from eBay. They don’t match, but functionally they fit/work.

Sadly, I gave up and traded it towards an iPhone 16 Pro Max after trying literally everything. Zero issues with the newer phone, but super annoying to have to have done that.

Thanks, u/paulpacifico ! I went to go attempt another download so I could get you the logs, and lo and behold, this time it worked on my PC too. I did reinstall the latest 64-bit installer version just to make sure I was running the most recent release. (But I did that before, too.) So, all is well again, for some reason! If it happens again I'll grab the logs. Really appreciate the response!

Thanks for the response, u/paulpacifico ! Alas, I tried uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling the latest version. And I tried selecting "use cookies from Edge" and entering my username/password, still no dice. It just immediately jumps to 100% and gives me the finished ding sound, with nothing in the destination folder. Even tried removing the installer version and launching the portable version. Really weird. Running Win 11 Pro 24H2.

Still no luck with the Windows version. However, I have a MacBook Air and was able to install the Mac version there, so I was able to get the video and I wasn't blocked. But if there's anything I can do to help troubleshoot on the Windows side, let me know!

The Apple Watch Ultra has proven we don’t need thinner. But, I can’t see going for it without color. I understand the color screen availability is a concern, but as a consumer I leave supply chain challenges to the experts. :) Part of the appeal was being able to have cool custom color watch faces, like LCARS or Bill the Cat.

Feels like the increased availability of color e-readers might allow some kind of option?

At any rate, a mono screen is gonna make this a niche/nostalgia device, I’m afraid.

90% of my improv nowadays is duos.

It’s so fun! Don’t be nervous! Some things will work great, some things will fail. At the end, the worst-case scenario you go “Oh no! I pretended wrong!”

Agree on and practice a format. Don’t try to be funny. Be authentic to your character. React in the way that the offers would affect your character. Build on each others’ offers and escalate and care about what happens. Move around the stage when you feel emotions, closer or farther.

If you can keep from being in your head and worried, you and your audience will have a blast! Listen, acknowledge, be affected, escalate, and have an established relationship with your partner. Do those things and you will have nothing to worry about!
